Toby Madigan is a Pop/Rock singer/songwriter who represents Top 40 at its best with fast songs that resemble All-American Rejects and ballads that sound like James Blunt.

Biography

Toby Madigan is a Pop/Rock singer currently living in Los Angeles, CA. His music is heavily influenced by Top 40 music from pop singer/songwriters to pop/punk bands. His songs like “I Need Somebody” and “The Rest of Me” emulate the intimacy of songwriters like James Blunt, Daniel Powter, Howie Day, and Richard Marx. Some of his faster songs, like “Chatroom Romance,” cross into the territory of the All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, Blink-182 and Green Day while still keeping a unique appeal that includes bright vocals and harmonics. Because of this melding of multiple influences the album has been titled “Left Brain/Right Brain.”
Toby is originally from Rogers City, MI (Pop. 4,000) and has been singing and touring with various acts since he was 18 years old. He first appeared in the national tour of the All-American Singers, starred in Jesus Christ Superstar, and was a featured entertainer for Royal Caribbean.
Upon arrival in Los Angeles, Toby was picked up by a pop/rock band called “Branded,” represented by legendary music attorney Owen Sloane, who works closely with him to this day. He later went on to work with producer Christian B. (Celine Dion’s “A New Day Has Come”) and was a songwriter for “American Junior” finalist Chantel Kohl.
Toby Madigan currently performs in the Los Angeles area. He has received numerous awards, such as “Best Lyrics of All-Time (Pop/Punk)” on www.garageband.com. The album, entitled “Left Brain/Right Brain” is due out in April 2006.

Lyrics

I Need Somebody (I Can Talk To)

Written By: Mike Pehl and Toby Madigan

I Need Somebody (I Can Talk to)
Music by Mike Pehl
Words by Mike Pehl and Toby Madigan
Copyright 2006.

I need somebody I can talk to
I need someone who really cares
Someone to give me warmth and comfort
Someone who always will be there

My home and heart stay together
But they’re in need some company
Someone who’ll understand just whether
I am blind or if I can see

You say that I don’t realize I may be loved in this world
There’s already somebody here who cares
I guess that I don’t realize my flag should be unfurled
Although I can’t help but be scared

I need somebody I can talk to
I need someone who really cares
Someone to give me warmth and comfort
Someone who always who always will be there

You say that I don’t realize I may be loved in this world
There’s already somebody here who cares
I guess that I don’t realize my flag should be unfurled
Although I can’t help but be scared

Bridge:

It seems that I’ve been overlooking
You who were standing there
Someone who can break my fall

My life has been so overwhelming
But you never let me down
I just had to turn around

Chorus
Although I can’t help but be scared
Although I can’t help but be scared

World War IV

Written By: Toby Madigan and Todd Tackett

I thought this war wouldn’t last so long
But 10 more killed by a roadside bomb
And I don’t think I can watch the news again today

I can’t imagine living 18 years
To end up dying far away from here
Without ever knowing what I fought for anyway

Chorus:
WAS IT WORLD WAR III . . . OR WAS IT WORLD WAR IV
HAVE WE FIGURED IT OUT . . . WHAT IT IS THAT WE’RE FIGHTING FOR
ARE WE FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM? OR MONEY POWER AND OIL?
EXPLAIN IT TO ME . . . IS IT WORLD WAR III OR WORLD WAR IV

I think about it at the Exxon Station
I like livin’ in a gas tank nation
But who had to die for every SUV

Am I pumping with blood-stained hands
Are children dying in a war we’ll never win
The story keeps twisting . . . and everybody keeps listening to the lies

IS IT WORLD WAR III . . . OR IS IT WORLD WAR IV
HAVE THEY TOLD US THE TRUTH . . . WHAT IT IS THAT WE’RE FIGHTING FOR
ARE WE FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM? OR MONEY POWER AND OIL?
EXPLAIN IT TO ME . . . IS IT WORLD WAR III OR WORLD WAR IV

Bridge:
(We’ve) Gotta make up our minds
Are we gonna unite (make it right)
Or are we gonna spend the rest of our lives stuck in WORLD WAR III . . .

CHORUS OUT

Color Me Out of the Blue

Written By: Steve Mesropian

Anticipation
I want to get close to you
No hesitation
Are you thinking what I'm thinking, do you feel like I do?

Is this what you were hoping to find
When your eyes met mine
Been waiting for ya

CH Do you believe every man has his moment?
Would you believe that it¹s now or never?
I've taken my chances on shadow romances
Then suddenly something true
To color me out of the blue

V2 My fascination
I don¹t even know your name
A new sensation
Its because of you I'm never gonna be the same

All the lost and lonely lovers before
They don't live here anymore
I've been waiting for ya

CH Do you believe every man has his moment?
Would you believe that it¹s now or never?
Once I was jaded, a rainbow that faded
Then suddenly long overdue
You color me out of the blue

Bridge: With you I¹ll never wear a disguise
An open book in black and white
Yesterday were shades of gray
Tomorrow may be too late

CH Do you believe every man has his moment?
Would you believe that it¹s now and forever?
Droplets of paint splashing down like the rain
A picture perfect view
You color me out of the blue
