"TRAD MAG (2012)."

« Tram des Balkans set themselves apart with their undeniable musical originality, their openness to different styles (jazz, pop, throat singing, rock, …) all so well processed and reclaimed that you can no longer pick out the origins. It’s powerful, it’s tasteful, it swings and it charms with humour, cheek and nostalgia.»
« On stage, a great rapport with the audience and enough emotion, humour and warmth to soothe the souls of an army of depressives. » (S. Denis). -

Tram des Balkans, a group of 5 singer-musicians with unmistakeable energy have been promoting live, lively, danceable music for over 10 years.

Violaine Cochard, a deeply committed concert harpsichordist, embodies an accessible baroque aesthetic that is always open to exchange.

Together, they create music that blows apart all those stylistic divisions and restrictions, keeping hold of what's essential... the pleasure of being together : ToccaTram.

ToccaTram is a project shaped by original compositions and some very personal interpretations of baroque works; it is a dialogue between musical repertoires four centuries apart, an exploration of that common ground beyond stylistic differences, a passionate meander through Europe and its centuries of history.
