The Girl From Waco

Written By: Todd Murray

THE GIRL FROM WACO
By Todd Murray

Now let me tell a story, about love fame and glory
I’m on trip, on a ship, down the Rio Grande
I spy a Texan Princess, with airs of wanton noblesse
She’s holding court on the side of port, a red rose in her hand.

From the crowd, a voice too loud, beckoned, “Hop into MY bed.”
Well she was unimpressed, this lioness, and this is what she said,

“I am the girl from Waco
Wherever I go they go.
I’m at my best, way out west,
And Boy I like the heat.”

I must admit my interest, was mainly that of conquest,
She forced me in-to her path of sin to which I boldly would comply
I said, “Ma’am your look of shyness, belies a royal highness
Gifts like yours, behind closed doors, should be proven not implied”

And oh the fire in her eyes, flamed a ruby red
The lioness in distress roared with this she said

“I am the girl from Waco
Wherever I go they go.
I’m at my best, way out west,
And boy I like the heat.”

She yanked me to the crew mess, with ?? stripped off her dress
The passerby’s, were stunned with surprise at the show from dusk to dawn.
You could say we conversationed, a primal education
She was quite amazed by the point I raised-but I’m too shy to go on.

Let’s just say by the end of day I was not afraid for more
She said, “I’ll be back, I’m goin’ to pack, as she staggered out the door.”

Now the girl from Waco
Wherever I go she go
We’re at our best, here out west
And boy we like the heat.

We’ve made our nest, way out west
And boy I like the heat.

Patricia

Intro: As the moon drifts by in Orion’s sky, you may waive goodbye but first I must tell you that…

Patricia, I’ve never met a girl who can bewitch ya, like Patricia
Patricia, not Patty, Pat, or Trish, and don’t try Tricia, it’s Patricia
Patricia, a baron duke or earl could not resist ya, Patricia

Bridge: With a mile high sigh, I must share that I for your love apply, and blush as I tell you that

Patricia, a hundred times plus one I want to kiss ya, Patricia
I’d miss ya, if you should go away, hey

Tag: If there’s ever a path that you set on, you don’t just walk you run a marathon
Patricia, you are so swell

Patricia, all the chef’s in gay Paree would like to dish ya, Patricia
In Roma, the street café’s declare “Capisca! Patricia molto Delicia!”
I tell ya, if Zabar’s had the room they’d sell knisha, called Patricia

Bridge: But now the moon is high in this velvet sky so before you fly, I just have to tell you that

Patricia, all the stars that Michelin grants is what I wish ya, Patricia
I’d miss ya, without you skies turn gray, hey

Tag: There’s no other gal that I have known, you toss her grapes she makes a
Cotes du’ Rhone. Like Patricia, you are so swell

When I Sing Low

WHEN I SING LOW
BY Todd Murray

YOU TOUCH MY SKIN
AND THE VIOLIN TURNS TO CELLO
A SILKY MELLOW TONE
THAT WRAPS AROUND MY HEART

A SHOT FROM YOUR EYES
AND THE CLOUDY SKIES BECOME WARMER
A COZY SETTING OF WHAT FORMERLY MEANT RAIN

DON’T THINK I AM DOWN AND BLUE
WHEN I WHISPER SLOW TO YOU
IT’S WHEN I’M SINGIN’ LOW TO YOU
I’M GIVIN’ YOU MY HEART

IF YOU CAN’T SEE THAT MY MELODY IS A JUMPIN’
MY BLOOD’S A PUMPIN’
MY STACK’S ABOUT TO BLOW
I CRAZY LOVE YOU SO
AND YOU’LL ALWAYS KNOW
WHEN I SING LOW

Follow Me, Follow You

Written By: Todd Murray

In a dream last night I heard a lullaby
Your words so sure so strong
You told me with your eyes, "I am proud you are my son."
And I was glad to be the one…
That if I should cry, you would hold me high
And promise with this song, you would sing this song

CHORUS
If you follow me I'll follow you
When the storms come up we'll make it through
For after the rain the sun will shine
I can't wait to see the hills you climb
You're a beautiful boy not a thing you can't do
If you follow me I'll follow you

You fell to a house of silent cries
You were home but you weren't here
A child only sees that his daddy's not the same
And inside he holds the blame.
And with each passing year how I longed to hear
What he promised in a song, why won't you sing your song?

CHORUS

At last I see your love for me
Was the light above the gray
Though sadness won't erase, forgiveness takes its place
Now I've pushed the clouds away
And I know somehow, that you hear me now
This promise in a song, I will sing this song

CHORUS

I'm Putting Myself In The Dream

Written By: Todd Murray

I'm Putting Myself In The Dream
by Todd Murray

Early in the morning when I am all alone
I think back on my life and what I’ve done
Seeing those around me, climb the highest hills
I’ve always set them free so they could run.

But now it’s my turn…its up to me
I want to hold what’s mine; whats meant to be…

Chorus
I’m putting myself in the dream
I’m gonna reach for the sky
My life is more than it seems,
I want to fly.
I’m putting myself in the dream
And, if I don’t touch the sky
I’m gonna know what it means
To reach out and try…

No matter hard it may be,
The whole world will see,
I’m putting myself in the dream.

Verse 2
Through the years I’ve loved you watching as you grow
Cheering was my game, but now I know…
I love you still, I always will, but can you see
I have got a gift that I must show you.

Oh, yes, it’time that I, spread my wings and fly,
and prove that I can soar so much higher!
Chorus

Oh, yes, it’time that I, test my wings and fly,
and prove that I can soar so much higher!

(Key Change up a minor third)
Chorus
