PASSIONATE YOUNG SINGER-SONGWRITER GAINS
ATTENTION OF VENUES AND FILMMAKERS

As a recent college grad, dynamic singer-songwriter Todd Myers has spent most of the last four years writing and sharing his music with college crowds all over New England. Building on the growing popularity of other young singer-songwriters such as James Blunt and Damien Rice, Todd’s refreshing originality and powerful performances have won him a coveted place among college crowds.

An ambitious performer, Todd has built his fan base through a wide variety of shows, most notably a two-year position as the house performer for the popular Bates College pub and eatery, The Den. Further fueling his success, the recent release of his self-made debut album has gained the attention of venue owners, promoters, and an independent filmmaker who plans to feature his track “Struggle” in an upcoming film called “Death by Repetition.” In addition, Todd was just chosen by yet another independent filmmaker to compose the complete original score and soundtrack for the film “Grodmin.” Most recently, Todd has employed his creative piano talents by collaborating in the studio with fellow singer-songwriter Elizabeth Santy on her upcoming album, “Easy.”

Classified as a unique mix of acoustic driven Folk/Rock, Todd’s music has unmistakable presence and soul. Blending his mastery of the piano with acoustic guitar, smooth vocals, and poetic lyrics, Todd's gift for songwriting is impossible to deny. His songs speak passionately and powerfully, avoiding gratuitous fanfare, leaving only the irresistible emotional honesty that defines his music.

As he graduates from Bates College in May of 2006, Todd plans to relocate to Boston in order to take his music career to the next level through continued performance, composition, and recording.

Lyrics

Struggle

Written By: Todd Myers

She lays crying for hours, cause I can’t let it go
She is hoping I’d forgive her, for the things that I now know
I’m sorry, I’m sorry, that I can’t be more
For me, for you, for she, see it’s not you it’s just me

And now I wish I was all the things that I know you still adore
I can’t find you gone again, what are you hiding for
I’m waiting, I’m hoping, for you to change
Maybe someday, not she today, who are you waiting for

What can I do, but leave here too
Cause I feel homeless, every single day
I need you, I miss you, can you hold the strain
I know you want it, I need, it might never be the same

And I can only wait so long, for you to come around
I’m tired, wasted, lonely and angry, and I’m still losing ground
Do something, I mean it, how else can I say
Make me believe it’s me you see, cause my heart is sore

Why don’t you, leave here too
Cause I don’t believe you, every single day
I need you, I miss you, can you still explain
I know you want it, I need it, but I don’t need your pain

Songs and letters and calls and lies, waiting for the day
From me to you I saw salvation, hiding in your eyes

Ageless

Written By: Todd Myers

I can’t seem to reach you, can’t you understand the words I cannot say, I’m afraid
Don’t you want to know, the things that make me burn, you’d be amazed, how low I’ll go
Don’t you want to try it, don’t you be afraid, it’s me, who’s scared of you
Don’t be like she was, please don’t look away, cause you’re not like her, let it show.

I could give you, what you wanted
I could save you, if you want it
I am lonely, and don’t you want me?
If I ask you, will you hold me, will you help me?

I tried to leave but I can’t, you might be the lady, I am not crazy
They can’t see the problem, they just say ‘hey try,’ what the hell have I been doing, all alone
And sister where are you, have you betrayed, have you escaped, don’t leave
And don’t despair little lady, you just keep on searching, where’s love?

I could give you, what you wanted
I could save you, if you want it
I am lonely, and don’t you want me?
If I ask you, will you hold me, will you help me?

She's In Control

Written By: Todd Myers

You know what’s in control
You take it want some more
You want some Carnevale?
Better leave here before you take her home

I came here looking to score
I left here broken and cold
You think I came to lose?
Who are you to think that you’re something new

Leave here, you don’t want it, you didn’t want it, too late
I see her, I don’t need this, flirtatious mistress, leave here

You came here looking to score
Sick and tired of waiting for love
You think I’m here for you
You didn’t want me, go find someone you do
