T. Odis

T. Odis is a 26-year old-alumnus of Tuskegee University. A Chicagoland native, he began using poetry as an outlet of self-expression. Since then, he has used his gift as a tool to build up his environment through positive and informative poetry that tells of life from his perspective. He’s performed spoken word and conducted workshops at venues, colleges, K-12, conferences, and various other events throughout Chicago, Virginia, Indiana, and more recently, the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. T. Odis a member of the 2012 Inkwell Slam Team, and has shared the stage with the likes of HBO Def Poets Black Ice, Abyss, Joaquin Zihuatanejo, and Tasha Jones. He is also member of the NUSPA Award winning ensemble The Left Side Poets, a group of artists determined to contribute to the artistic world by providing personal accounts of life through poetry.

T. Odis's influences come from both music and poetry. An avid fan of hip-hop, soul, gospel, alternative, jazz and the blues, he uses the two to create a style all his own. His writing and performance style, combined with a unique and attention commanding stage presence provide the backdrop for honest, relevant social commentary with words that are so vivid you'll be able to actually SEE what he is saying. T. Odis's work is compelling enough to inspire others to see the world different and impact change in their own way. His personal experiences within this commentary add a unique flair and perspective that often exposes the thoughts people think, but seldom share. He is known for his ability to connect intimately with any size audience, and incorporate humor, triumph, tragedy, honesty, and current affairs into an art form that continually enterains, educates, and inspires audience groups of all ages and backgrounds.
