To Kill The King

BandMetalRock

To Kill The King is a Melodic Hardcore band from Northern New Jersey. Being together only a little over a year, we have already self-released a fully pressed EP, completed a full summer east coast tour, and played with many successful National acts.

Biography

Driving hundreds of miles with crushed chips on the bottom of your van and an abundance of smelly feet and unshowered boys may not seem appealing to most, but for us, it's our home away from home...and we wouldn't have it any other way. We are To Kill The King, and we aren't the savior of the "Scene", nor are we trying to be the next step to a Rock revolution. We're 5 young men who have a passion for music and want to dedicate our lives to spreading the music we enjoy making, and gaining as many friends as we can on the way. As a currently unsigned band, we have completed a full 2006 summer tour, and had the most amazing time ever doing it. We play (what we believe to be) a somewhat original style of Melodic Hardcore, mixing our favorite components of Hardcore and Metal, while having a major soft spot for slow atomospheric instrumentals and soothing singing. We came together in the summer of 2005, and haven't slowed down since. We just wanted a musically technical band that was composed thoughtfully and flowed easily. We wanted to create heavy music that was easy and enjoyable to listen to, yet would instrumentally set us apart from a very generic sound. Influence wise, we get our musical influences from everywhere...so i'll just say what we've been listening to as of late : Misery Signals, As Cities Burn, Protest The Hero, and Acceptance. Within the passed year, we have gained a huge local fan-base, and a nice sized fan-base that spreads all over the Tri-State area, and we gained many new fans across the U.S. this summer and we couldn't be any more grateful. We like to believe we bring something somewhat new and different to the scene, but that isn't for us to decide, is it? Give us a listen :)

Lyrics

Miss Fortune

Written By: Rob Baranoff

You're a modern day pickpocket with nothing to lose, besides some loose morals and fake ideals. My bottomless pocket paralells my everything; never to be totally empty...but always lacking. And gracefully i fall, as graceful as falling can be. For i know that those green eyes can never be trusted again, and even the most graceful fall will crush all that have. All that was stolen and all that was lost, is worthless if they can be handled so easily. what good is my word if it can be lost in a shudder, what good is a promise if it can't even be seen?

At This Rate, I've Been Gone Since Yesterday

Written By: Rob Baranoff

These eyes of mine are heavy weighted and don't want to open. Unconsicously, things are far from perfect. Consciously, things are farther. We all know that we are constantly chased by our unforgiving past. Well, it'll never get me alive. Oh dear, i think i've already lost, i'm sorry but i've given up. A crooked smile and a wary glance is all I have to offer. My most sincere regrets are quite non-existant. Hope is happily lost.

Sparks That Fly

Written By: Rob Baranoff

"Combust to flames, for you are good no more".
The brain proves quite unique in situations like this.
Feelings sedated, and words with answers smothered.
Our fuel is scarce, but the fire keeps burning.
The blue on your face suggests lack of oxygen.
But i know it's just your selfish way of heating up.
It was your mistake to expand the void in your lungs.
Sure is hard to breathe in here.
Who knew self-combustion would take so much energy?
These ashes of me were gifts to you,
but those soft eyes never saw the last of me.
