Tom Eure is an Americana singer songwriter and a multi instrumentalist. Often compared to Steve Earl and Arlo Guthrie. Tom shows are like a musical and emotional rollercoaster ride.

Biography

Americana singer/songwriter, Tom Eure, got his start in the music business in 1991 while living in the mountains of NC. During his time there Tom played solo folk shows, hosted open mics, fronted bands ranging from psychedelic to pop rock, and played bluegrass and old tyme music with friends on his off days. This seasoned troubadour offers up a sound that's steeped in roots and honesty.

With his fourth and latest CD "Back Woods," Eure delivers his best and most accessible work yet. Tom has performed at top venues like The Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville, CBGB's Gallery in New York City, festivals through out the South, and has opened for some of the best acts in the biz, including the great James McMurtry, Chris Smither, Two Dollar Pistols, Verlin Thompson, Jeff Black, Thad Cockrell, Scott Miller and the Commonwealth, Greg Trooper, and Tom's musical hero, Warren Zevon.

Audiences can tell Tom is at his best when performing. He is truly at home on the stage -- his humble, comic demeanor has earned him a devoted following. Although Tom Eure's music doesn't necessarily fit into a clearly defined category, that's a good thing, because neither do people.

Lyrics

By God

Written By: Tom Eure

Any journey worth taking
Can never be easy
And believe me I’ve hit a few bumps in the road

I’ve made some wrong turns
Took to many short cuts
But each time I managed to stumble back home

The key to the map is one of perception
It was written by looking down from above

For I have been blessed
Just to learn to be humble
I have been loved
And done nothing to deserve it
I have been given hope
When it all seamed so hopeless
And if it’s one thing I know, by God
It’s all by God

Looking for answers
Thats just a fools game
And friends thats a role I’ve played more than once

Some folks will tell you
The’ve got it all figured
But there ignoring the parts where the math doesn’t work

And that’s where my intellect has to surrender
And all doubt gets lifted on the wings of a dove

For I have been blessed
Just to learn to be humble
I have been loved
And done nothing to deserve it
I have been given hope
When it all seamed so hopeless
And if it’s one thing I know, by God
It’s all by God
And if it’s one thing I know, by God
It’s all by God

Verse 1: In my morning hour I will read the Gospel word
Oh Lord let it guide my day
And what good news it is each morning to be heard
Oh Lord let it guide my day

Oh how it speaks to me of the gifts that my God gave
And it reveals to me the lives that Jesus saved
In my morning hour I will read the Gospel word
Oh Lord let it guide my day

Verse 2: Well it lifts me up to know how much God cares
Oh Lord let it guide my day
When I read His word I know my saviors there
Oh Lord let it guide my day

It’s like the swaddling close and the manger in Bethlehem
If you look there thats where you’ll find Him
In my morning hour I will read the Gospel word
Oh Lord let it guide my day

Verse 3: Yes it feeds my sole morning scripture and prayer
Oh Lord let it guide my day
And in this worldly world it shields me from despair
Oh Lord let it guide my day

Oh it’s my time alone with the one who knows me best
He comes to me through His word and I am blessed
In my morning hour I will read the Gospel word
Oh Lord let it guide my day
Oh Lord let it guide my day

Verse 1: I feel I’ve got to send this message to the wind
For a while I had lost my way
Cause this worlds gate is open wide and Heavens is narrower by size
Yes it’s hard , but thats the road worth taking

Chorus: For so long I let doubts and questions hold my heart for ransom
Then I heard God’s song of Love calling me home

Verse 2: He took away my pain and he’ll do for you the same
A loving Father always helps his children
And if on proof you must insist wont you answer me this
Is their not beauty in what escapes our understanding

Chorus:

Verse 3: So I shout fall down on your knees and ask forgiveness please
Cause He wants nothing more than for it to be granted
Some laugh at such advice while with their sole’s they roll the dice
But with repentance there the first Gods love will welcome

Chorus:

The Journey

The Journey

Verse 1: With hope... face the horizon
Though the weight... seems hard to bare
If you need strength... strength is given
To escape… all earthly snares

Light comes to us in times of need
Takes our hand and guides our feet
Upon the one direction we are set

Chorus: On The Journey
On The Journey
The Journey is the path back home
And by that path we’re blessed
For the Journey turns to Glory at our rest

Verse 2: Every boat… has a rudder for steering
Every sea… will put it to the test
An anchor… my keep you from sinking
But raise the sail… for we must process

Though waves will crash and storms we’ll meet
On we’ll go without retreat
A Holy ship can never be upset

Chorus:

Verse 3: With faith… you can move mountains
Even faith … small as a tiny seed
From just a drop… can spring a fountain
That leads… to lasting peace

It grows stronger in us every day
The truth, the life, and the way
When loves your guide theres nothing to regret

Chorus:

It's Never Too Late

It’s Never Too Late

Verse 1: Back in Old Testament days
Israelites were the Philistine’s slaves
But God made Samson strong and gave him a job to do
Strength was given to Samson for evils defeat
To start the Philistines on a path to retreat
The boy was proud but it’s never to late to turn it around

Chorus: It’s never to late too turn it around
It’s never to late too fall to the ground
And humble yourself before the Lord and receive His grace
No matter how far you’ve fallen away
No matter how big the mistakes you’ve made
It’s never too late… It’s never too late, to turn it around

Verse 2: Sampson fell for Delilah that was his demise
He took his eyes off of the prize
Cause when you give in to sin there's no way to see the truth
As strong as Samson was
The flesh was weak and to it he succumbed
But soon he’d learn it’s never too late to turn it around

Chorus:

Verse 3: Delilah learned that his hair was the key to his strength
Helped to have it remover while Samson did sleep
Counted blood money while Samson was tortured and made the Philistines prize
But in his darkest hour hope was found
Faith lead him to fall to the ground
And pray to God cause it’s never too late to turn it around

Chorus:

Verse 4: His last request in this life
Let me die with the Philistines to make things right
God gave him the strength and Samson went and pushed their temple down
It’s true God uses us the way we are
Even when our distance from him seems far
So it’s never too late... it’s never too late to turn it around
