Bio

A true New York musician, Tom FitzPatrick began honing his musical chops in the Manhattan club scene. At the age of 17, he was playing gigs in such renowned and seminal venues as CBGBs, The Bitter End, and Webster Hall.

His skills as an expert player soon earned him the position of bass player and backup singer for the blues-fusion band Ocean Avenue. With its complex play of jazzy percussion, funky bass lines, rock-inspired guitar riffs, and bluesy vocals, Ocean Avenue’s sound became well known on the NYC circuit for their idiosyncratic style.

After the dissolution of Ocean Avenue, TF fronted his own band; Sebastian Arrow—a pop-infused, melody-driven ensemble that became a vehicle for his intuitive brand of song crafting: catchy melodies paired with introspective lyrics. With the release of his solo CD “Here and Now,” TF continued the song writing style that began with Sebastian Arrow.

His latest CDs--ArmeSwan and Lazy Day Sorrows--encompass a variety of producing styles and melodies. ArmeSwan contains songs that are engagingly pop-oriented with distinctive rhythm tracks and quirky electronic enhancements. Lazy Day Sorrows offers the unadorned freshness of real folk music laced with authentic americana flair.

Currently living in NYC, TF can be seen playing the local music scene nearly every day of the week. In addtion to solo work, TF dedicates his time to playing bass and guitar with various groups.
