Bio
Tom Gary and the stevelanders was originally a side project known as "Tom and Gary", Rhythmically Acoustic and Percussive Duo, created as a diversion from the 7 piece "Party Band" they were performing in.
During this time, Tom and Gary had complied a hardy list of covers from Johnny Cash to Bare Naked Ladies. This period had molded their "Tom and Gary Sound" and influenced their original sound, even altering the sound of tunes written prior to their collaboration, which were "locked in the vault."
As Tom and Gary aspired to get "Bigger and Better," and get to the next level, they sought after the talented guitarist known as "Stevie B", a.k.a. Steve Burcheri.
After what seemed a very long recruiting time, Tom and Gary and Steve finally came to agreement, that they would all form the Democracy known as Tom Gary and the stevelanders.
This name came from not wanting to eliminate the Tom and Gary moniker. We tried Tom and Gary and Steve, Tom and Gary Featuring Stevie B, and other variations. Coming from a photo of us goofing around, We said Steve had a "Zoolander" pose on his face, which evolved into "Stevelander," which ultimatley morphed into our name.
Steve's Tasty Homebrewed Strat Licks complement Gary's Acoustic Driven Lyrics and Chords, and Tommy's Backbeat (and Gary's bottom end) on the few recordings so far layed down and sure to be more to come. All topped off by the Humorous "The Cereal Song."
