With the release of his second country album “Leave It All Behind”,
Tom Logan explores the darkness within...

Perth independent country artist, Tom Logan, releases his second album, entitled “Leave It All Behind” - a 13-song chronicle of the journey through heartbreak and despair, to the healing of a wounded soul.

Tom Logan’s “Leave It All Behind” is available at The Jah-Rock Café, Broome St, York, 08 9641 2447; or directly from the artist at live shows. (Alternately contact this publication/station to order a copy)

Album Info
“Leave It All Behind” is a collection of 13 original songs that offer an insight into the emotional rollercoaster of a relationship coming to an end. The songs chronicle the different facets of emotional devastation faced by a man during this heartbreaking process. Shock, denial, anger, desperation, depression, despair and acceptance - it’s all there. Very much a cathartic exercise, “Leave It All Behind” was written with long-time friend and collaborator Darren Nunis.

Completely self-funded with co-writer and co-producer Darren Nunis, and independently recorded, released and distributed, “Leave It All Behind” took 18 months, from putting pen to paper to final CD pressing, to complete. The album was recorded in Perth with several of the city’s most respected musicians and arguably one of the finest guitarist/musicians around, Greg Bird, who also has co-producer credits.

Track Listing
1. Battered and Bruised 8. Follow Me
2. The Hard Way 9. Lost On The Highway
3. Leave It All Behind 10. Let It All Slide
4. Missing You 11. Trouble
5. Broken Down 12. What Do You Think This Is?
6. Poor Heart 13. Hillbilly Heart
7. By My Side

About Tom Logan
Perth native TOM LOGAN was born in 1970. He began his musical journey at a young age with dreams of being a mainstream rock singer, in the Springsteen and Mellencamp vein. He started playing in pub bands in the early 90’s, always as lead singer, but it was not until his bassist, Darren Nunis, give him a tape of Dwight Yoakam’s “Buenas Noches From a Lonely Room” that he found his true calling.

Logan later teamed up with Perth guitarist extraordinaire Greg Bird (ex- The Magnificent Seven) to form the country/rockabilly duo “Twang Thang”, performing 5 nights per week in Perth around the turn of the millennium. Logan recorded his first album during this time, with Greg at the helm, and it was released in July 2000.

Having married and settled in York with his wife in the late ‘90s, he moved to Sydney when they separated in January 2001. With the move east, Logan played at the Tamworth Country Music Festival that year, spent a couple of months soaking up the scene and playing some gigs around rural NSW, before retiring from performing and working as a Sales Rep in Sydney. He eventually returned to Perth, got divorced, became a teacher, and, as fate would have it, was posted back to York.

This tumultuous time saw him eventually turn back to his first love, music, for solace and emotional release. Teaming up with Nunis again, the seeds for “Leave It All Behind” were born in early 2003, and again with Greg Bird at the helm, the album (and the healing) was completed in November 2004.

Logan plans to find a distribution and/or marketing deal with his new album and will perform live shows through 2005 to promote the album, while continuing to write and record new material.

Tom Logan still lives in York, Western Australia – a peaceful rural setting about 100km east of Perth. In the heart of wheat and sheep country, it provides the idyllic surrounds for generating the inspiration that drives Logan to continue exploring the human condition.
