Bio
Meet Tom Moustos
Tom Moustos was born and grew up in Sparta, Greece. Inspired by the art of music at an early age he started music lessons when he was six years old. He initially studied the drum set, piano and Classical Harmony of Music.
As a teenager, Tom performed in different Rock bands and Greek traditional dancing bands. In 1998, Tom moved to Athens to continue his studies at the G. Fakanas Conservatory (Counterpoint Diploma). At the same time he was also pursuing an electrical engineering degree at the University of Athens. During his early years of career Tom experimented with blending middle eastern traditional sounds to more modern music styles.
In 2002 Tom moved to Chicago to give a series of performances as he was member of the Tight Rope Walkers band.
At that point, Tom fall in love with Chicago and he decided to continue his educational journey at Columbia College. A few years later he graduated with a specialization in Jazz studies.
He is currently working as a music producer and musician hosting a variety of music events in the Chicago land area. He also completed his graduate studies in Jazz and World music styles at N.I.U.
