""TOMMY ASH'S YODELING COUNTRY ROCK IS PURE PHOENIX""

"The hard-edged honky tonk of the Tommy Ash’s latest, Sinner’s Blood, bares witness to Ash’s musical roots. It’s a quick jab of a record, stacking slapback rockabilly riffs over propulsive shuffles. The title track isn’t far removed from the cowpunk of the Blasters or X; “Sugar in a Bottle” evokes a Sun Records stomp; “When I’m On Gone” is a sweet sashay featuring revved up vocals from Ash. […] ”Friend” is a brassy ballad, with Ash employing an ace falsetto over languid pedal steel swells and “Yodelin’ Blues” evokes an imagined spaghetti western directed by David Lynch. Ash yodels, and it’s chilling.” - Phoenix New Times - Jason P. Woodbury

""Genuine Goddess of the Honky Tonk Gospel""

"Tommy Ash came in hot like a shooting star, landing gracefully at our number five spot with her single “Yodelin’ Blues“ from her 2013 debut album release of, “Sinner’s Blood.” Coming in just behind Nikki Lane at the #4 spot […] Throughout the years, Ash has transitioned into a young woman of true integrity, and has since proven in a mostly male dominated genre that women can be just as tough as any whiskey shooting roughneck out there. Breaking stereotypes, and kicking down walls. […] This singer, songwriter, and Arizona native is a genuine goddess of the honky tonk gospel, and is making waves throughout the Americana roots music movement" - wehatepopcountry.com

"Understanding Evolutionary Progression In Country Music"

"Many extraordinarily gifted, and hardworking, hard driving, boot stompin, ass kicking revolutionists like Mr. Sturgill Simpson, Whitey Morgan, Tommy Ash, Nikki Lane, and Jake Penrod stand tall above the rest, tying together a fine example of how to respectably progress the styling of the country music format in a way that both purists, and progressives can confidentially get behind.

""Tommy Ash is Awesome!""

"With old country mega hits made new and original songs sounding retro cool, Tommy Ash had the 300+ audience rockin' in their seats"

"This concert was in two 45 minute segments and no energy was lost by Tommy Ash. If anything, she and her band seemed to gain momentum making the second half even greater than the first. All three of her backup musicians were top grade. The lead guitarist hit chops so good, making it sometimes sound like a steel guitar, that Carl Perkins and Marty Stuart would probably have smiled. The drummer was as solid as a metronome while visually flourishing without distracting. The bass player was subdued but solid as a rock with a moonshine barrel full of charisma. As great as all four were on their own, they were definitely a tight team where 1+1+1+1 seemed to add up to five, then seven, then 11, and that was only the first fifteen minutes. This concert kept getting better and better and better" - Examiner.com

The Phoenix New Times describes Tommy’s music as “hard edged honky-tonk […] stacking slapback rockabilly riffs over propulsive shuffles“. Tommy and her band recently opened for the legendary Merle Haggard, and played several shows with THE honky-tonk man Dwight Yoakam, her shows receiving rave reviews from the media.

Tommy also shared the stage with Dale Watson, Lorrie Morgan, Chris Young, Pam Tillis, JP Harris, Cody Canada & The Departed, Moot Davis, Tracy Lawrence, Neal McCoy, John Micheal Montgomery, Ryan Bingham, Cale Tyson, Turnpike Troubadours, and more.

Her influences are anchored in real Country & Western music, such as Dwight Yoakam, Wanda Jackson, Buck Owens, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Dolly Parton, etc. WeHatePopCountry.com described Tommy Ash as a"genuine goddess of the honky tonk gospel", featuring her in their top "5 Female Country Artists That You Just Need to Know About". The Phoenix New Times praised the band saying it “draws on enough modern sass and classic freight train beats to appeal to fans of both Traditional and New Country” and included her in their top “10 Phoenix Bands You Need to Hear This Summer 2012”.

Tommy and her band also played a run of dates in Europe in 2013 and 2014, showcasing her brand of revved up Arizona honky tonk music to European fans.

In September 2013, Tommy Ash released her first album Sinner’s Blood (available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, etc). “The hard-edged honky tonk of the Tommy Ash’s latest, Sinner’s Blood, bares witness to Ash’s musical roots. ”Friend” is a brassy ballad, with Ash employing an ace falsetto over languid pedal steel swells and “Yodelin’ Blues” evokes an imagined spaghetti western directed by David Lynch. Ash yodels, and it’s chilling” writes music journalist Jason P. Woodbury.

Her second album will be released in the second half of 2015, stay tuned for more details!
