Tommy Cassidy

Though Tommy was not born into a family of musicians, music did play an important role in building a foundation and love for his decision to become a hip-hop artist. However, it wasn’t until adolescence when Tommy was truly exposed to the genre of music that would one day become his career.

It was hip-hop, she was hip-hop and her name was rap.

The love of music grew with age, as it does for most musicians. Coinciding with the start of middle school Tommy got the opportunity to get his feet yet with a group of older cats. But it wasn’t until Tommy’s Freshman year of high school until music began to look more like a career choice than a hobby.

“High school played a huge roll in my music, that’s where most of my opportunity’s came from.”

With the help of Pacific Roots, family, and the supportive fans that have continuously followed his music “American Moonwalk” will be available to the hands of those who have an ear for good music and good vibes. “American Moonwalk” is my interpretation of where I am from. The concept is based off the idea of turning the history of my home into music that not only those hipsters and older crowds can nod their heads to but that anyone, anywhere can listen to and appreciate the process of live production and sound. Listeners can expect to hear what they see. But for those who haven’t seen a live show yet, American Moonwalk will sound like a live show. The idea was to make something that would not only sound great when you’re driving in your car but to make something that will captivate your life. Just like our live show, the record is full of high energy, live trumpet, bass, drums, singers, and a DJ. The songs on the EP are personal though relatable and filled with references to history, culture, and the love for genuine hip-hop.
