Bio

Miami, FL-born, rapper/songwriter/poet, Tommy D. is taking Hip-Hop music back to its roots with his positive, Christian rap.

The artist, who now hails in Atlanta, GA, discovered his God-given voice when he was 13 and has since dedicated himself to using it as a force for good in the best manner he knows how: music. In 1997, at the tender age of 16, he joined Rappers In Christ, a Rap group that would later be influenced by his work in choir groups such as The Day Brothers and the Church of God in Christ choir.

He relocated to Atlanta in 2001 where he sought a better life and began a secular career. However, he found it all unfulfilling and, in 2007, returned to his roots and rededicated his life to Christ. Later that year, he released his first mixtape, 180 Degree Turnaround. Fans have been witness to this spectacle at events such as a worldwide online interview and song feature on "The Brother Tee Show" and "Saints on Deck" on Thepraisehouse.com, a worldwide online interview and song feature on Rejoice1680.com, at the Sweet Auburn Spring Fest, The Holy Hip-Hop Awards, many youth conferences around the nation, the Obama Inauguration Celebration in Atlanta, GA.

In October 2010, Tommy D. released his debut album, Not Entertaining, But Rearranging. The debut album showcases his unique lyrical style. With a mix of complex flows, and lyrical sharpness, Tommy D. shows that not only is he known for his catchy tunes, but also for his ability to write powerful songs with serious subject matters. “I don't just rap to you,” he says of his vocal style. “I talk to you, teach you something and give you a positive message. When I put on a show, you can expect a fun time but you can also expect to give God praise and hear my testimony during that show.” This versatility and artistic complexity has enabled Tommy D. to solidify himself as one of today’s Christian music’s rising stars.

With his next album, already in the works, Tommy D. has grand plans to expand on an increasingly global basis, telling the world about Jesus’ undying love. But for now, Not Entertaining, But Rearranging stands as a landmark release that should create life-changing debate, given its groundbreaking nature.
