"Tommy Edwards Band"

"... Edwards' playing, whether on guitar or mandolin, was tight -- particularly when he was playing rhythm chords.
And his singing, strong and heartfelt, matched his lyrics. His seeming openness to exposing his emotions onstage shows that he has come a long way from his younger days..."
- Tad Dickens -The Roanoke Times

LATEST REVIEW
Name: Tommy Edwards Rating: 5

Review: I am the owner of High Point Coffee on Brambleton Ave. (across from Oakeys) We have been fortunate enough to have Tommy play. He was OUTSTANDING! He wowed a packed house with his music and message. I have since had customers begging to bring him back (which we plan to do... Often!) He is a must see/have entertainer.

Bio

Hailing from the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains of southern Virginia, Singer/Song Writer Tommy Edwards sows a quilt of American roots music that is uniquely his own, spinning tales of a modern troubadour facing changing times and a culture in need of a voice. In the summer of 2003, a high-speed skateboarding accident resulted in a head injury that nearly ended Tommy's life, led to mental illness, the loss of his business, and a life on the streets. Tommy's story moves from hometown hero to homeless addict to reinvention, recovery, and rediscovery of life. Tommy has fronted a number of fusion-based ensembles, incorporating a wide variety of instrumentation and stylistic license. His travels have taken him to 47 states and three countries, working with major recording artists, world-class musicians, and recently The World International Blue Grass Band. His influences of blues, blue grass, folk, western, rock, and country have created a sound that is Uniquely Americana.
