Tommy Ferrari and the Future Motor Machines play "biker pop" - it's violent, but it's also easy to dance to. Citing primary inspirations like fist fights, forest fires, alley cats and slashed tires, the group brings Motor City rock to Kansas City. They haven't played that many shows yet, but that's no reason to slag on 'em. A better reason would be because they recently told a TV interviewer "we don't actually like anyone in Lawrence." But we'll give 'em the benefit of the doubt and assume that's just playing to character; a thing they do supremely every time they take the stage to play for those people they don't like. - LJWorld.com
Some say Tommy Ferrari is a traveler from the future sent back in time to teach a group of young men the prophecies of tomorrow. Others say he’s a dude with long hair and lots of tats who frequents local watering holes. Even more people say: “Who cares? Chug! Chug! Chug! Whoooo!”
One thing that’s agreed upon is that Tommy Ferrari and the Future Motor Machines know how to rock a party, whether it be by glam rock, garage rock, punk-funk, or some greasy combination thereof. Iggy Pop called to invite David Bowie to a jam session, but Bryan Ferry picked up the phone and said he’s in the shower, and Bowie never got the message because The MC5 showed up and kicked Ferry’s ass. Yeah, something like that. If you’re about to go on a crime spree, make sure you have some Tommy Ferrari on your nano.

Tommy Ferrari & The Future Motor Machines is greater than the sum of its parts; a true collaboration, meticulously weighted and counter-balanced by the personalities and aspirations of its five comprising members. The means to this machine’s end are circumstantial and ever-changing, but its mission (often the only point upon which members unanimously agree…) is as clear as day: to produce the most radical musical art ever mined from human minds, and to earn a place amongst rock'n'roll's- and perhaps civilization’s- fabled heroes and champions. Influences include Roxy Music, David Bowie, Hawkwind, and Iggy and the Stooges.
In short, Tommy Ferrari & The Future Motor Machines are a biker gang from the future that blows off steam in the present day (via bizarre cosmic anomaly) by playing noisy rock music, singing at the top of their lungs, and dancing their asses off…
