"Rays Of Pale Light - Album Review"

o provide you some comparisons, I found some of the songs to remind me of Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, and Ryan Adams, while the bigger sounding songs reminded me of earlier Coldplay and even Teenage Fanclub. I guess I hear more reminders of British pop/rock bands in Hinkley’s larger efforts the more I listen to them. He certainly shows the songwriting abilities of these artists.. - Musik Reviews

"Rays Of Pale Light - Album Review"

Sometimes really good records just come clear out of the blue. Tommy Hinkley is the guitarist in The Moon Music Orchestra and, when they're on hiatus, has his own his own Tommy Hinkley & The Wandering Horse. The latter seemed plainly from the school of crazy horse so I anticipated this record would bring guitar pyrotechnics. I was a little off the mark. - Bucket Full Of Brains

"Feature"

“Hinkley's voice has echoes of a gentler Bob Dylan and Ryan Adams, while his music recalls Adams at his less shit-kicking, softer, lovesick moments and Beatles tunes like "Blackbird."

Bio

Music luxuriating in the strength of strings, plaintive piano and emotive singing. Late 70's Dylan meets Laurel Canyon era Neil Young with shades of Jason Pierce’s mellower soulful Spiritualized explorations creating a perfectly balanced mix.
