Bio
22-year-old Tommy-Lee Sexton loves Christian music. It makes sense, because that is the music he sings. But to him, Christian music is more than just random notes put together to form a pleasing sound. Christian music is meant to honor God, to bless and minister to His people, and to proclaim His Word, Truth, and Love to those who do not yet know Him. “As a singer and a songwriter I have the opportunity to speak to different issues that people may be going through and show them how God ministers there.” He believes that his own battle with depression and anxiety allow him to sympathize with and minister to others going through similar issues. In fact, some of his original music has been inspired by times of sadness or depression. “God has proven faithful to me time and time again. I want the people I sing for to know this through my music and speaking.”
Tommy-Lee has ministered at a variety of places and events over throughout Long Island including "Café Ablaze” (Garden City), Walk in Love for Jesus Church (Bellmore), G2G Bible Store (Center Moriches), and the renowned, “Samantha’s Lil Bit of Heaven” (East Northport). He has also been a guest singer on Telecare’s Good News with Msr. Jim Vlaun. Tommy-Lee also recently graduated with a degree in youth ministry from Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, PA. When singing, Tommy-Lee combines his own heartfelt original music with covers of popular contemporary Christian hits.
September 2010 marks the release of Tommy-Lee’s first professionally recorded CD. The title, Regeneration, is based on the Biblical concept of how Christ makes those who have placed their faith in Him, those who were previously dead in their sins, alive and brand new in Him (Ephesians 2:1-10; 2 Corinthians 5:17). Regeneration covers more than a few genres and is the culmination of five years of songwriting.
