Bio

TOM NOLAN BAND

TNB is an institution on the southern California music scene. They have been playing together for over twenty years. The bands musical mission is to spread positivism and to make people dance. Tom says, Were all about fun and community. We play to help people forget their troubles, break a sweat, and get in the groove.

TNBs live shows include a mix of classic soul, blues, jazz, and their own original tunes. Tom Nolan sings lead, and plays harmonica and percussion. David Hoyt joins him on guitar and vocals, Jade Capri sings and plays tambourines, Victor Cisneros and Jackie Klimek are on saxophones, Evan Avery is on trumpet, Jose Arellano is on trombone, Scott Hitchings is on keyboards and vocals, David Brown is on bass and vocals, and Eric Meeks is on drums. Tom says, These are some of the finest musicians in town. They play at the highest level. We are good friends, and we love playing together. Chemistry is the key to our success. The band ranges in size depending on the venue. Nolan is the principal songwriter in the band; he often writes tunes with other band members.

Toms band has seven CDs to its credit. They have played up and down the California coast, from San Diego to Shasta, and have made appearances at festivals and community concerts including the Playboy Jazz Community Concerts, Park City Jazz Festival in Utah, the Verizon Festival, Santa Barbara Film Festival, West Fest in Paso Robles, and the Polliwog Park summer series in Manhattan Beach. During many summers, the band plays for over 50,000 people. They always leave the crowd on their feet and wanting more.

Besides being a songwriter and bandleader, Tom is an educator and an
actor. He has appeared in twenty films, (including Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Falcon and the Snowman, Pretty Woman, and Tequila Sunrise,) two television series, and on
stage in New York and Los Angeles. Tom has been teaching for twenty-eight years; he is currently the Assistant Director at the Crossroads Upper School in Santa Monica.

Tom Nolan Band is a grass roots effort that has taken hold. It started in a garage, was cultivated in clubs, and has moved on to the festival stage.
They have entertained for thousands, and they stay true to their mission: always leave your audience dancing.
