"Tom P is underhyped"

"Tom P is underhyped.. For those who aren't familiar, Tom P is a Decatur native who, in typical white boy rapper fashion, often gets dismissed based on appearance, but I openly defy anyone here to tell me he's not dope after listening to "Raw". Not only is his flow surgically cut apart the Kamal the Element beat, but his "I Used to Love H.E.R.' inspired lyricism is also hilariously on point: "You finished, diminished, just throw in the damn towel / rap is a fucking mess, my shit's the ShamWow.' If that sounds like I'm overhyping him, its only because so many people are underhyping the man and I'm trying to balance things out. Just listen below, the music speaks for itself. Oh, and if you want some free gear from DJBooth Freestyle Series sponsors StreetAmmo x IMKing, click here. " - Redifyned Hype

"Tom P artist of the month"

One of the most popular blogs for hip-hop on-line had Tom P rap for the feature of the month and it was received with critical acclaim from the top DJ on the sight and owner of DJ Booth - DJ Booth

"Tom P's flow is unique and hard to match"

"I think a good rapper is a master of language and words; a master of vocabulary, both intellectual and street. I think an even better rapper is a master not only of words and language, but of syllables and alliteration. Tom P has all of those things. His flow is hard to match and unique, switching between really fast, syllable focused alliteration and an old school flow with a concentration on rhyming words. His demeanor is flawless. In the tradition of Bone Thugs he spits rapid rhymes but always manages to bring it back to what only he can describe best..."old school, new school cross-pollination..."" - beATLanta

"Tom P seems poised to be the next big thing"

"Overall, Tom P seems to be poised to be the next big thing out of the ATL. His fresh style and wry wit make him seem like he should be signed to Def Jux or something. The critics who rally against him may have some leg to stand on but not enough to shut Tom P down. I look forward to his future releases." - Adam Morgan

"Tom P may be the future and you better get on board"

"Whiplash quick delivery complimented to humor and drive. Tom P may be the future, and y'all better get on board. "

Bio

Tom P grew up in Decatur GA. He was influenced by rap at an early age and began writing his own lyrics at the age of 11. What was seen as an impossible dream by his minister father and perhaps the general public became some what of a reality when Tom P independently distributed his first EP in high school and had his first sold out show. This was the first sign of Tom P's "proving himself" against the odds characteristic that would become a staple of his struggle and lyrics in the coming years. Over 500 kids from the Atlanta area came out to support the young aspiring rapper. In the years following high school Tom P honed his rhymes and developed the rapid fire delivery he has become known for. He began throwing and promoting his own events in his early 20's, selling out many of Atlanta's premier venues and finally gaining the notoriety he deserved when he brought out over 1,000 fans to a ware house show he threw off Krog Street (where acts like B.O.B and Yelawolf opened for him.) He followed up with the release of "Root for the Underdog." The album release party for the album sold out the Quad on Spring Street in Atlanta which holds over 1,000 people as well. The word of Tom P's energetic shows, lyricism, and sprawling fan base spread quick and attracted the attention of many artists in the industry. He has since performed with and developed relationships with Three 6 Mafia, B.O.B, Nappy Roots, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Yelawolf, Pill, Cyhi The Prynce, Rehab, Rittz, Trinidad James, Gorilla Zoe, Killer Mike, many of the well-known up and comers in the game and toured the south east last year with TechN9NE and Machine Gun Kelly. He has now headlined over 100 shows and performed at nearly 150 others mostly in GA but spanning as far as Canada. He has performed in front of over 6,000 people on several occasions and headlined some of the biggest shows Atlanta has to offer. He headlined Wild Bills (largest club in USA) opened for Raekwon at the A3C, performed at the Fox Theater, along with several large music festivals. Creative Loafing recently called him "The Best Overall Act in Atlanta" for 2012 (The first hip hop artist to win this award since T.I. in 2006) His new album "The Preachers Kid" is in the works and set to drop early this year which features Rittz, Jarren Benton, Gripplyaz, Playboy Tre, Cutty Cartel, and more, with production from Trinidad James producer Justin Padron and #1 Billboard hit producer J. Pitt. With his ever growing fan base in the streets and on-line, it is expected to do well and is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year in the Atlanta underground scene.
