Tom Rodriguez

First and foremost i am a worship leader/ musician/songwriter, i am also a studio musician, and a certified luthier to boot. I have worked with the best artists and on the best instruments, and being able to put my hands on so many different instruments and be in contact with so many amazing musicians has shaped my idea as to what music is, and how to go about expressing it.

The only form of formal training i have was at Calvary Chapel's Ocean's Edge School of Worship which uses curriculum from the study program at Berkley School of Music, to train on the musical Side of things. While going to school, i was asked to come on church staff as a worship musician, and upon graduating Ocean's Edge, I was asked to stay on as an instructor for advanced theory and practical application.

My main foundation influences started neo, and classic rock like Yngwie: black star, and GnR: welcome to the jungle, so my styling is pretty aggressive with no hesitation as to what im about to play, but this is tempered along with knowing what tones to play over what chord; my motto, used to be: play everything perfect, but if you have to, mess up like you meant to.....Now being one of the main worship musicians at one of the largest churches in America, and a professional studio musician....play it perfect the first time is NOW my motto;)
