Love all types of music so there's no telling what kinds of songs I may write. Quote from CD Baby aptly describes my first effort. "A melodic soulful and heartfelt style that eases the challenges that the heart endures". The next songs are rather different, but it's still me.

Biography

For more than 20 years, Tom Rowan has been behind the buttons, knobs, and now computer screens of some talented
folks. He has worked with Joey Ramone, JaRule, El Recodo DeCruz Lizarraga,
jazz greats Gary Barts,Sonny Fortune, and Frank Foster,
Singer/songwiters Sam Frazier & Mary Lyon just to name a few. His long career in audio has led to this point, where Tom has had the space and time to work on his own music and release his debut single, " Blue Butterfly ".
It is a moment long overdue in an illustrious career.
But wait, it seems things are looking up, Blue Butterfly appeared in Billboard's top 100 singles sales chart at # 25 week of May 19th, 2007.
Finally the album " It's All I Ever Wanted To Do Anyway" has been released. With stellar performances by Chuck Cotton: Drums, Karin Beckérus: Vocals & Bup Vocals, Greg Herndon: Keys, Tyler Barringer: Bass, Tim Betts: Guitar, and Courtney Shaw: Vocals & Kelly Pace: Drums on "Days Like These", the album is a joy.

Lyrics

Already Gone

Written By: Tom Rowan

Take a moment, try to understand and see this from my point of view
With a love for all seasons free of demands and a flame that still burns for you
I never thought I’d find myself in this nowhere place again
I must have been blind ‘cause when I waved goodbye
You were already gone
Already gone.

The way I see it, it was your little game still I gave it all to you
And though I feel no one’s to blame don’t wanna lose my faith in you
But I never thought I’d find myself in this nowhere place again
I must have been blind ‘cause when I waved goodbye
You were already gone
Already gone.

And though your distance is my cross to bear, I can’t out will the receding tide
And when you tell me you no longer care, I try to take it all in stride
But I never thought I’d find myself in this nowhere place again
I must have been blind ‘cause when I waved goodbye
You were already gone
Already gone.

Already gone,

You changed your mind, were you even there ?

I never thought I’d find myself in this nowhere place again
I must have been blind “cause when I waved goodbye
You were already gone
Already gone.

Everything Changes

Written By: Tom Rowan

When I can’t tell the shadows from the night
It’s no easy ride but it’s all right
When I lose out, I try not to let it get me down

When I find myself back where I started from
Hail the beat of a different drum, not who’s right or wrong
Like A river I just roll on

Look around, everything changes nothing stays the same
Like the loves I found, everyone changes
No one holds the reins

When it comes to love, my timing’s all a wry
All the ones I believed in waved goodbye
Never understood the reasons, I must have been an easy target

Not for a moment do I entertain the thought
(And) behave like the one’s whose lies I bought
No albatross by my side as I make my own way

Look around everything changes nothing stays the same
Like the loves I found, everyone changes
No one holds the reins

The American Dream X

Written By: Tom Rowan

Survived the war but it don’t matter
It makes no difference it seems
No one cares they’ve all forgotten
The boys and girls and me

Men in suits, sit down to dine
Enjoying the fruits of their misdeeds
One mother lost her daughter to the war
Another sad one lost her son to greed

Count up their victories, means justified by the ends
Me I count on nothing cause I’ve lost too many friends

We’re all caught up inside their wheels
They bet our money when they make their deals
We’ll be the ones who have to die and bleed
Fight their wars and uphold their dynasties

The Wall Street boys they just count their money
They take too much from this land of plenty
Soon we’ll all be standing in lines
We’ll all be victims of their bottom line

Goldman Sachs, A I G and fucking Bank Of America
Now we ask, who’s more greedy
It’s the gilded age of the 21st century

Some will go on playing, and some will go to die
Some will keep on waiting for the angels in the sky

Goldman Sachs, A.I.G. and fucking Bank Of America
Now we ask, who’s more greedy
It’s the gilded age of the 21st century

Global trade, global grief
Ain’t got no job, no health care, no relief
Another deal, another scheme
While they destroy the American dream
