Tom Ugly is an Australian-based Electronic /Rock artist. Breaking onto the Australian music scene at 16 as the winner of the inaugural Triple J Unearthed High
competition. Tom Ugly went on to receive high rotation airplay on triple j with Cult Romance which received 35,000 free downloads on their website.
Following the success of this single, Tom Ugly released the debut self titled EP with three other high rotation singles, which peaked at #23 on the ARIA Singles Chart and #3 on the AIR Singles Chart, remaining on both charts for a consecutive 11 weeks. After the release of the EP, Tom Ugly toured around Australia supporting acts like Groove Armada , Simian Mobile Disco, Sia, Evermore, Art vs Science, Midnight Juggernauts, Datarock plus many more and hit up some of the nations biggest festivals including Pyramid Rock.
This year, Tom Ugly been announced as a finalist in two categories at this years International Songwriting Competition and was asked by Apple to perform an exclusive live show at The Apple Store in Sydney.
Over the past 2 years he has been working on his debut album which has moved in a more Electronic direction. He also went to the US to work with the co-creators of Daft Punk, Alterian Inc. and has developed an amazing new set which he has started touring at Wollombi Music Festival & Surry Hills Festival and will continue touring internationally with his debut album. The album is due for release in early 2013 and videos will be released monthly online with each track.
