Tom Wilson

Tom Wilson

BandFolkAcoustic

I write easy listening country, folk, blues and jazz. My influences include the Beatles, Eagles, and anyone, young or old of any genre who writes meaningful lyrics. I also prefer to use the power of harmony as my influence would suggest.

Biography

I have performed in regional northwest venues for many years. I am a prolific songwriter with over one-hundred songs and nine albums to date.

I recently produced the album, "Bred to Jam for Bread" due for release on 18 December 2008. The CD is already up for sale on SnoCap at www.myspace.com/bredtojamforbread
Producing this album for a cause so fundamentally human while getting to work with twelve different songwriters was educational. I don't believe I have ever learned as much about my craft as I did while working on this project; a wonderful and enlightening experience.

Alaska

Written By: Tom Wilson

ALASKA
T. Wilson (6 Oct 2003)

There’s this (E) place you can go to
Where the (A) sky and water blend
Glacial (E) flow through every valley
Spawning (B7) salmon end to end
There are (A) markers in the (E) heavens
Glowing (B7) patterns paint the (A) skies
These are (F#m) wonders to (B7) behold
Colors (A) play (B7) upon the (E) eyes

A place of (A) beginnings (B7) never (E) ends
The welcome (A) faces of a (B7) few close (E) friends
The perfect (A) penance for (B7) all your (E) sins
Just let (A) Alaska (B7) draw you (E) in
(G#m) You can be miles and miles from (B7) home
(G#m) And never truly find yourself (A) alone (B7)

You will (E) know you know the meaning
Won’t need (A) proof to tell you so
Where the (E) air is worth a breath of
And the (B7) sun glares off the snow
Water (A) winds a way though (E) meadows
Virgin (B7) timber shades the (A) light
You will (F#m) find a purer (B7) meaning
Where the (A) day glows (B7) through the (E) night

CHORUS/VERSE LEAD

There’s this (E) place you can go to
Where the (A) sky and water blend
Glacial (E) flow through every valley
Spawning (B7) salmon end to end
A pana(A)cea for your (E) problems
No pressing (B7) issues left to (A) solve
Where the (F#m) seasons blend (B7) together
A timeless (A) march of (B7) no re(E)solve

A place of (A) beginnings (B7) never (E) ends (E6)
The welcome (A) faces of a (B7) few dear friends (E)
The perfect (A) penance for (B7) all of your (E) sins (E6)
Just let (A) Alaska (B7) draw you in (E)
Just let (A) Alaska (B7) draw…You in (E6)

By and By My Love

Written By: Tom Wilson

By and BY Love
T. Wilson - 23 Sep 2007

By and (A) by love
As we (F#m) try love
Keep asking (Bm) why love
Don’t let me (E7) go?

Always some (A) reason
Wrong month or (F#m) season
Suspicions of (Bm) treason
That would never un(E7) fold

You know I will (A) hold you
Love like I (F#m) told you
Touch you and (Bm) mold you
As a part of my (E7) body

And splendor will (A) follow
No sense of (F#m) sorrow
Words never(Bm) hollow
When they come from the (E7) heart

SO…By and (A) by love
As we (F#m) try love
Keep asking why(Bm) love
Just d on’t me let (E7) go (A6)

LEAD

Such a pleasure
Enjoying our leisure
a blessing and treasure
A gift to behold

Worth more than fortune
Fame in proportion
One healthy portion
Of your love

Snuggle beside me
That feeling inside me
Yearning to fly free
Over the moon

You know I will hold you
Love like I told you
Touch you and mold you
Close to my body

And splendor will follow
No sense of sorrow
Words never hollow
When they come from the heart

So by and by love
As we try love
Keep asking why love
Don’t me let go

Symphony

Written By: Tom Wilson

SYMPHONY
(Tom Wilson)

TOM WILSON: All instruments and vocals

A river flows around her like a blanket in a cradle
Bringing goods down from the valley, puttin’ supper on the table
In the morning in the sunshine from between the mountain tops
Stirs a rooster in the neighbor’s barn me I’m sawing logs
And I’m getting kind of comfortable I was feeling kind of high
Life is like a symphony running through my mind

Smoke from every chimney laying low along the trees
Folding money in my wallet a little praying on my knees
I could see a portly Postman deliver mail to old man Cline
Mr. Johnson and his mistress walked along about that time
And I was getting kind of comfortable feeling kind of high
Life was like a symphony running through my mind

Clouds, painting shadows on the valley while I ponder what to do
Crowds gathered on the boardwalk perhaps she’ll be there too

Up the canyon to the north where the smell of summer pine
Leaves a sweet scent in the air a better place is hard to find
Well she met me at a cabin I was with a friend of mine
We were looking for some ladies, she was looking mighty fine
And I was getting kinda comfortable, we were feeling kinda high
Life was a like symphony running through our minds

CHORUS

I love to watch her walking to my doorway from her car
She is poetry in motion she’s a shining super star
She told me she was staying so I offered her my bed
There is room enough for both of us I swear that’s what she said
And I was getting’ kind of comfortable we were feeling kind of high
Life was like a symphony running through our minds

CHORUS

A SPEC IN TIME
T. Wilson, 4 October 2005

(B7) Some people hold a (E) grudge
Everybody has a (A) circumstance

Everybody has a (A) plan
Opportunity to (E) take that chance
Every road has its (B7) bends
At the mercy of (A) happenstance (B7)

Everybody feels the (E) heat
Everybody toes a (A) line
Every lesson to be (E) learned
Will surely come (B7) along in time

Everybody finds a space (E)
Like the blinking of an (B7) eye
Split second of the human race (E) (E7)
Everybody’s on the (F#m) way somewhere
(B) We’re just a tiny spec in time (E) (E7)
Do something while you’re (F #m) Standing there (B7)
