Bio
Tone is a straight-edged original rock and roll band hailing from South Florida. They combine influences ranging from jazz, to hard rock, and almost everything in between to make a sound all their own. To be sure, their music is exactly what the name suggests: It’s all about the Tone! The instrumentation allows the music to be as diverse as their influences. Tone consists of a guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, trumpet, and of course… those rock and roll vocals.
Tone was formed in 2004 by Jason Bakes (J-Roq) on guitar, and David Lynch as lead vocalist. This songwriting duo composed a number of veritable chart toppers at a scorching pace, and soon it was known that something special was happening. J-Roq and Dave took these songs and combined them with a number of original songs that J-Roq had written and performed through the years with bands such as “Thin White Line”, and the “Wired Hangers.” Shortly afterward the band was completed by adding Jason Kemos on bass, Brad Abramson on keyboards and trumpet, and Joey Ramairone on drums. Tone was born!
Tone has performed locally in the South Florida area to rave reviews. They were picked as the headlining local act for Recoveryfest ’05, opening for such notable acts as Eddie Money, and KC and the Sunshine Band at Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton, Fl.
Tone’s music is round, polished, soulful, and unique... like velour in the closet , or a power 70's
