Biography

Singer, songwriter and Dove Award Nominee, Toni Becker, has a style that can best be described as unique and refreshing. Since 1981, Toni has performed all over the world as lead singer of a rock and roll band and as a solo artist. Her favorite tours were privately booked military tours playing for the troops in Europe and Asia.

In November of 2004 Toni and her band performed for two Presidential Campaign Rallies, one before a crowd of 30,000 and the pre-debate rally in St Louis.

Toni’s 2006-released CD, Storybook, was produced by her husband, Brian Becker, and thoroughly captures Toni’s amazing gift of song crafting. The engineer, Steve Dady, stated, "In my 20 years of mixing, this CD has the best combination of songs on it that I've ever worked on. Rarely do you have a project where you can't wait to get to it each day."

In 2003, she released her first original project, Thin Blue In Between. Toni also sang two lullabies on a compilation CD called “I Can Only Imagine: Lullabies For A Peaceful Rest,” which features Mercy Me’s, Bart Mallard, singing a lullaby version of “I Can Only Imagine” and other renowned artists. This work was nominated for a 2004 Dove Award. This was her second Lullaby CD, the first was 25 Songs Kids Love to Dream To with her voice singing 23 of the lullabies.

Toni performed a duet with Wayne Watson on "Every Now And Again" from The Fine Line. Plus duets on "He Knows" and "Slow Boat To China" with husband's, Brian Becker, Benson projects: Daring 2 B Different and No Longer The Wayward Son.

Toni and her family currently reside in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Living Outside My Storybook

Written By: Toni Becker, Brian Becker, Tim Hicks

I penned my life in stages
A chapter at a time
The more I turn the pages
The less I recognize
Who are all these characters
With picture perfect lives?
Standing on the edges of
My once upon a time?

Im livin outside my storybook
Judging by the way things look
Im not fooling anyone anyway
Living outside my fairytale
Bidding it a fare-thee-well
With so much more to tell

Beyond the illustrations beyond the black and white
Lies a Truth to bind the fiction out of anybodys life
An honest Revelation Ill set my heart to write
Theres a happily-ever-after fading into sight

Im livin outside my storybook
Judging by the way things look
Im not fooling anyone anyway
Living outside my fairytale
Bidding it a fare-thee-well
With so much more to tell

You read between the lines of these tattered pages
And see whats really inside
You love me anyway through all the drama and suspense
More than words could ever say

The Outsider

Written By: Toni Becker

Standin' on the outside lookin' in
Like an alien from another country
Feelin' like an outsider
Like an outlaw in the movies
Hidin' from the lawmen

Winds of worry
Waves of conscience
Storms on the horizon
I saw it coming from miles away
I want to run for cover
I want to hide
I want to hide

Livin' on the outside like a gypsy
Always wandering to another campfire
Feelin' like an outsider
Like a rebel with a cause
Because I don't want to lose you

Winds of worry
Waves of conscience
Storms on the horizon
I saw it coming from miles away
I want to run for cover
I want to hide
I want to hide

Living In Real Time

Written By: Toni Becker & Brian Becker

You can't see into the future
No sense living in the past
Time keeps ticking away
Life keeps moving way to fast
All you have is right now
It's right before your eyes
Contrary to what some say
You won't get another try

You're busy chasing some day
You're running from your fears
When you're more at home in yesterday
You're never really here

And here is where you want to be
Living in real time, Living in real time
Here is where you want to be
Living in real time, Living in real time
Real, real time.

It's learning how to give and take
It's living out the golden rule
It's what makes all the difference
Between the wise man and the fool
Be careful where your heart is
Cause there your treasure will be too
And when in doubt remember
It's not all about you

You're busy chasing some day
You're running from your fears
When you're more at home in yesterday
You're never really here

And here is where you want to be
Living in real time, Living in real time
Here is where you want to be
Living in real time, Living in real time

Real, real time.

Any Road Will Do

Written By: Toni Becker & Brian Becker

When you're lost and you don't know where you're going
Or maybe it just never mattered to you
You play it safe between the ditches
And any road will do, just any road

When you don't know where you've been
Or how you've come this far
Maybe you missed too many clues
Laying low beneath the radar
And any road will do, just any road

Any road will do
Any old direction
You say you don't need no highway signs to tell you where you're going to
Well I just can't believe that's true
What makes you so certain that all roads just lead to roads
And any road, any road will do
And any road, any road will do

Did you ever stop to think
Have you ever wondered where all these roads will lead you to
You say you don't need no destination
Any road will do, just any road

Any road will do
Any old direction
You say you don't need no highway signs to tell you where you're going to
Well I just can't believe that's true
What makes you so certain that all roads just lead to roads
And any road, any road will do
And any road, any road will do

Like an arrow with no aim
Just a line between to lanes
Don't you have anywhere to go on purpose?

Shine a Little Light

Written By: Toni Becker

I scream into the bright abyss prayers for deliverance
Shine a little light down here
Shine a little light

I whisper to the darkening cloak, “Gentle Spirit lift my hopes,”
Rain a little mercy here
Shine a little light

I want to dance alive within the courts
Instead of watching like a corpse
My heart and soul colder than a stone

Fan the flame
Light this fire
Burn within my breast awaken my desire
Breathe your name
Lift me higher
Beat within my chest
Light this soul on fire

I cried out to the moonless dark confessions of a jaded heart
Lend your inspiration here
Shine a little light

I laughed tears of a crazy man funny if it weren’t so sad
Hold me in your warm embrace
Shine a little light

I want to kiss the face behind the veil
Transcend the void between the scales
My spirit weak but willing

Fan the flame
Light this fire
Burn within my breast awaken my desire
Breathe your name
Lift me higher
Beat within my chest
Light this soul on fire

My Dream Come True

Written By: Toni Becker and Brian Becker

I’m a lot like you
I believe in taking chances
‘Cause I know that nothing ventured is nothing gained
And like dreamers do
I laid it all out on the table
And believed that all my dreaming was not in vain

I was one voice in a million
Another face in the crowd
But I believed that I could make it
And just look at me now

I’m living out my dream come true
This is all I’ve ever wanted
All I ever hoped to do
Welcome to my dream come true
You believed in me
Now I’m living out my dream come true

It’s been a wild ride
But through all the twists and turns
I just knew that I could go the distance
Right before my eyes
I watched my dream unfold before me
And it’s all because I took that chance
