Bio

G. Antonio Puller, Jr., now better known as “TonieG” is an American Rap artist, born and raised the picturesque mountain town of Boulder, Colorado. From a young age Antonio showcased his lyrical abilities often in school performances, street cyphers and battles, and in youth gospel choir. Falling through cracks in the public education system, Antonio found himself on his own at an early age living the life a young street hustler struggling to survive. After saying goodbye to the unpredictable lifestyle drugs and alcohol abuse can bring, Antonio returned his focus to his childhood dream of musical stardom. Adopting “TonieG” as his moniker, and releasing a series of demos and ep’s titled “The Lost Love Tapes vol. 1-4” TonieG made rounds of local shows, and clubs resulting in a major label recording deal offer, that Tonie ultimately rejected, instead opting to sign with a local label called NNP. Shortly after in 2010 Tonie was approached by local band “Rogue Sound” Tonie accepted, and together went on to dominate the local bar scene, and perform to sold out Fox Theater crowds with acts Such as Zion I, Ozomatli, Cavem Motevation, Foodchain, Mr. Anonymous, and others. In the spring of 2011, Tonie began recording “Gangster Coffee Music”. Still in the Though never released, this 100% independent project was to be the Debut album from TonieG and producer Miles Petrock. Tonie often performed with Boulder Resident DJ Elijah “EdubbleOh!” Moore also a Boulder Native and longtime friend, as well as many other producers and collaborators. The chip on his shoulder is obvious, and there’s no faking the gravel baritone in his voice. His lyrics make you rewind and really think. Tonie’s raw talent and intelligent technical style takes listeners to Raps golden age with a contemporary flair that nods to giants such as Big L, ChiefRocker Busy Bee and Masta Ace. TonieG is to rap what a clean fresh breath of mountain air is to a smog choked city dweller, reminding us that though real hip-hop is dying off at an alarming rate, there is a young uprising of artists not only ready to receive the torch, but to take it and burn conventions to the ground. Like it says on Tonie’s Arm, lets “save hip-hop”.
