"TONIGHT THE PROM: The Lawyer and the Priest"

Like many metal and punk fans, Andrew Saenz, 16, will head to Tinley Park next month for the Vans Warped Tour stop.

He'll be checking out the acts, but unlike other teens in attendance, he'll also take the stage with his own group, Tonight The Prom.

Saenz is anxious about the gig.

"We are definitely nervous to be playing on such an amazing tour, but it's more excitement than anything," he said, adding that performing will be a new spin on a familiar experience. "We usually all go to Warped every year, and there are so many bands playing this year that we love."

In the meantime, the group is preparing for a July 13 show at Metro, and Saenz sounded just as nervous about that outing. "We've been playing shows around the city and suburbs for about a year now, but this is a step up," he said.

While he and his bandmates--Jordan Dismuke, Jarad Kleinstein and Luke Harvey, all 17--hope for a bright future in music, they're keeping their education in mind as well.

"We plan to attend college and we're looking at schools in Chicago so we can continue performing together," Saenz said. "We really don't know where our music will take us, and we're very excited about the way everything has been going."

Bio

Tonight the Prom is a rock band from Chicago. Andrew and Jordan grew up in the same neighborhood and learned to play guitar together. In high school they met Luke and began writing and performing as a group. After several lineup changes, drummer Luke Sagadin came to join Andrew, Jordan, and Luke in 2009

Tonight the Prom has performed at many venues from the House of Blues Chicago to The Vans Warped Tour, and everywhere before and between! Currently (Fall 2008) TTP has finished their debut album, Our Greatest Mistakes, and plans to release the album on their own in the late fall/early winter. The band is also starting to tour the midwest and some other US cities.
