Toni Norville is hailed as Barbados’ original Soul diva. A record-breaking performer with an enviable run of success as both a live act and a recording artist, this gifted songstress is destined to take the World by storm.

Norville developed an early appreciation for music as a child. Making her debut performance at the tender age of five, she was instantly recognized as the small girl with the big voice. By 15, Toni was singing alongside the multi-talented group Smooth Boyz while also achieving recognition after placing second in the National Teen Talent Competition, singing her personal, soulful debut single Go On Home, co-written with local singer/songwriter Phillip Forrester. Toni went on to sing lead in one of the hottest bands in Barbados’ history, 4 D People, and scored numerous smash hit singles, including Love Will Never Let You Down.

Keen to promote peace and love among all races and sexes, Toni’s songs confront real-life issues, with depth and honesty. An intelligent artist, who is not afraid to be heard, Toni takes special interest in the challenges that face young women today. Her soul-lifting songs Movin’ Out and Go On Home are perfect examples of this.

Since those early appearances, Toni has not looked back. Toni has not only built an incredible following on her native island, but has also showcased nearly the entire Caribbean, as well as Canada, UK, Germany, Austria, Nigeria and Cuba.

She has shared major billings wit the likes of Ne-Yo, Beenie Man, Rihanna, Ja-Rule, Ashanti, Beres Hammond, Barrington Levy, Shaggy, India Arie, Alicia Keys, Chevelle Franklin and Lady Saw who collaborated with Norville on the track Moving Out, just to name a few.

Her Debut album “Caribbean Soul” made a notable impact on airwaves and dance floors regionally and internationally. Her two B.E.T- produced music videos for the singles Keep That On Your Mind, and the popular ballad Whatever have become staples on regional music networks and programmes.

Her hit single, Lullaby, featuring Source Award winner Spragga Benz and recorded at the Hit Factory in NYC, was nominated for Best R&B Single at the inaugural Barbados Music Awards, where Toni received a Cornerstone Award for her outstanding contribution to the development of Barbados’ music industry.

Several additional nominations followed as her single How Can This Be Love, received a nomination for Best R&B Single (Female) at the 2007 BMAs, and she is nominated for Gospel Artist of the Year for the 2010 event.

Toni became the first Barbadian artist to be signed to Gold Coast Records in October 2009, and gave ground-breaking performance of her classic Whatever, along with her soon-to be released single Reach Out at the label's top tier launch at the Barbados Hilton before an audience which included multi-platinum stars En Vogue, Jeffrey Osborne and Grammy winner Stephanie Mills, who immediately expressed an interest in working with Toni. The label, headed by US music industry executive Brian Springle, Academy and Grammy winner Regina Belle and Barbadian music industry mover and shaker Ronnie Morris and his business partner Russell Ruck, has named Toni as one of its priority artistes, and the process has begun for Toni’s roaring comeback, scheduled to begin in November 2009 with the release of her first single under the label. Her management team of Ronnie Morris, Brian Springle and Phillip Forrester is working feverishly to bring her the international recognition she deserves, based on her ability.

She is scheduled to make a significant appearance as part of the now World-famous Barbados Jazz Festival in January 2010, and her appearance schedule for November 2009 – 2010 is beginning to take shape in preparation for the release of her long-awaited sophomore album.
