"Philly Band Ton-Taun Delivers Time After Time"

With the use of so many different instruments and sounds in each song, Ton-Taun members Jordan Capizzi, Doug Hynes and Alex Ocko produced an album that is full of surprises and doesn't let down until the very last note. - Lancaster Online

"Ton-Taun | Get Well"

"It’s really easy to get lost while listening to [Ton-Taun], which is a good thing." - Badly Painted Apple

"Dealer's Choice: Ton-Taun"

The trick to this album is making the cross country trip on one tank of gas. “Get Well” never seems to overextend itself, and while impossible to place on a map, never feels out of place. - Pinpoint Music

"Ton-Taun - Get Well"

Ton-Taun doesn't leave me with much to criticize. Get Well is a solid album through and through. A very nice collection of new-era alternative singer/songwriter music in the vein of Monsters of Folk, Fink, Iron and Wine, Gorilla Manor and many more underappreciated talents. - Music Emissions

"Album Review: Ton-Taun 'Get Well'"

Get Well is one hell of a way for the band’s new line up to introduce itself. Jordan, Doug, and Alex have proven just how well they work together as a unit. Whether it’s the upbeat pop of “Color Me Impressed” or the doleful “Get Well,” I don’t think it will be too long before local up-and comers will be opening for Ton-Taun, not the other way around. - Tri State Indie

"Ton-Taun - 'Get Well' Review"

If Get Well is an exploration of self-recovery and existence, then Ton-Taun is still at the beginning of a hopeful and promising career. - Low Fidelity

Bio

Ton-Taun was conceived in 2007 in Lancaster, PA. Over the years, the group has lost and gained several members and relocated to Philadelphia, PA. In 2009, the band's original roster released 'Circus Court,' their first record, and quickly followed it the next year with 2010's 'Exporter.'

After the (amicable) departure of original bassist and drummer Mario and Louis Borgatta, Ton-Taun recruited Philadelphia drummer Alex Ocko and Lancaster bassist Josh Wood as permanent members. The group worked closely with co-producer Nick Curran (Selah.Selah, Missing Pilots) to record their third album, 'Get Well,' which was self-released in November of 2012.

Ton-Taun has become a strong live act, and has shared stages with several of independent rock music's most exciting new bands. Ton-Taun has played with Future Islands, Buke and Gase, No Age, Lavender Diamond, Ed Schrader's Music Beat, the Apache Relay, and Ra Ra Riot. Their live sound is based around Jordan Capizzi's commanding vocals, the tight rhythm section of Ocko and Wood, and experimental guitar textures and tones. Doug Hynes' guitar work, constantly shifting between controlled and chaotic, is one of the band's greatest assets as a performing unit.

Ton-Taun's influences include Wilco, Elliott Smith, Big Star, The Dismemberment Plan, The Roots, The War on Drugs, Radiohead, Wolf Parade, Modest Mouse, and The Silver Jews.
