BandRockSinger/Songwriter

If I had 30 seconds to describe my music, I wouldn't say a word. I'd ask them to put on my headphones for 30 seconds and then tell me what they think.

Biography

Trailer park kid from Detroit. It was either a guitar or a gun. I've been playing guitar with that mentally ever since. Started writing poetry in the 6th grade. Wrote my first song in the 8th grade. I love all music and all music influences me. But I only let a certain few influence my playing.

Detroit Love aka The Face of Poverty

Written By: Tony Boldrey

round the time I hit kindergarten
I became aware of the world around me
one day my mother drove past the bus stop
there stood a black momma and her young family

the first time in my sweet short life
I saw somebody dressed like me
'only thing that separates us

my grandfather is an Ace mechanic
Ace mechanic

I've never felt comfortable around rich white faces
that black kid was dressed just like me
I learned about love in front of a Detroit bus stop
c'mon now
racism hides behind the face of poverty

third grade southeast Detroit
ma with a black man named Joe
stoned, ahead of the game
everyone stared every place we'd go

he sprung us to his family on christmas
they looked surprised as could be
I saw the eyes of white men hating
in the way that family looked at me
looked at me

I knew i'd never forget that day
I swore i'd never put that look on somebody's face
I learned about love in front of a Detroit bus stop
c'mon now
racism hides behind the face of poverty

what I really wanted
was to crawl up into their mommas arms
she showed me love in her silence
that was so different from the way that I was always ignored
I'd never felt anything like it
anything like it

what I really wanted
was to crawl up into big mommas arms
she showed me love in her silence
that was so different from the way that I was always ignored
I'd never felt anything like it
anything like it ...

LAf aka City of Angels

Written By: Tony Boldrey

I'm heading out to LA
Where the sun shines every day
if you got a dream, I hear
they are giving dreams away
follow the tinsel
along the golden highway
you'll know you're here
when you hear the pounding of the waves

so many people want to be stars
so many people play guitars
so many flowers and bars
on the boulevard

the sun rise from the east
but it sets down on LA
where the richest of the rich
are proudly on display
the pretty girls turn sideways
to see if you look their way
the poor folk look at you
as if to say

so many people want to be stars
so many people play guitars
so many flowers and bars
on the boulevard

the air you breathe is thick
when you breathe in LA
where the big expensive cars
drive in traffic all day
the hollywood hills
hide the teenage runaway
mother ocean
is just around the way

so many people want to be stars
so many people play guitars
so many flowers and bars
on the boulevard
