Tony Flores

Anthony Joseph Flores was born May 16, 1972 is St. Paul, Minnesota. His love for began when he was 8 years old. He started playing music on the clarinet. He did not pick a electric guitar until the age of 16. After he heard Metallica's Master of Puppets album. He fell in love with playing the guitar the first time he plugged into an amp and hit the first chord. He took guitar lessons for several years at a local guitar shop. While studying at the guitar shop he learned as many Metallica songs as he could. Along with scales and chords. At the age of 19 Tony went to Music Tech to further his knowledge of the guitar. At Music Tech he learned all about Music Theory, Reading, Chords, and Scales. He also, introduced to Jazz and Classical guitar. Upon finishing school Tony went to practice all that he had learned in school. In 1994 he wanted to further his guitar studies. So, in the summer of 1994 he went to Berklee College of Music in Boston. The school helped him decide to be a full time musician. He had finally found a place where he could try and become the best guitar he could be. Upon returning from Berklee he hooked with guitar teacher Todd Duane and studied with him for 2 years. Todd was able to further his knowledge of the mastery of the instrument. In 1998 Tony went to the local college to finish his B.A. degree in Music. While during those four years he learned how write and arrange music. His influences expanded beyond metal to other forms of music and players. Tony is influenced by such players as Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Beethoven, Mozart, Miles Davis, and Mike Stern. Upon finishing college in 2002 he got a job and saved his money to write and record his first album. On July 5, 2005 Tony released his first instrumental guitar album called "Blazing Solo's". The album consists of all the hard work he has put in over the years. In the end of Nov. 2007 Tony completed his second album "Maximum Shred" which was released in Feb. 2008. The now album shows how he has developed as a guitar player and songwriter. Tony looks towards the future to become a better guitar player and song writer.
