"Tony Font Show"

Tony Font Show will be showing off their wares when they launch their debut EP 'Secret Steps'. Lee Cowan was genuinely excited about what is coming up for the band.
'Has Tony Font Show been aound for a while now?'
'Yeah we've been together as a band for about a year and a half now. Secret Steps is our first EP, even though weve done bits and pieces before, so this is the first true representation of what we're like live.' Lee outlined.
How would you describe the music of yuor band? 'Pretty hard and pretty fast' Lee suggested. 'I think you could say that our music is disco metal, if that makes any sense'. 'After building a following around town, do you think that there is extra pressure in making your first EP?' 'Certainly', Lee agreed. 'You cant spend a heap of time thinking about it especially if you want to be productive by any means. Essentially, you have to do what comes naturally and what the band sets out to do. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to record our EP in Byron Bay at Studio 301. Its the same studio that bands like Silverchair, Grinspoon, george and many other Aussie acts have used.' 'Which producer did you work with on the EP?' 'We worked with Paul Pilsneniks who worked on the last iving End album. He was a cool guy to work with and knew what he was doing, he's a good guy, and he's a good looking guy. I guess we like to work with good looking people and we ended up achieving six really hard and funky songs.' Lee explained.
'Does the name 'Tony Font Show' mean anything?' 'We havent really sought any legal advice yet, so we'll just call him a fictional character for now' Lee laughed. 'The name sounds impressive though, don't you think?'
'Yeah, 'were certainly setting ourselves up for big expectations,' Lee suggested. 'That's good because that's what we do, were buiding our reputation for our live shows, as we havent had a CD out for people to take home - A peice of Tony Font. Before now we were just relying on our hard and fast shows to get us by.'
What will you be thinking after your EP launch is finished? 'We want to keep it rockin', and thats all we know.' Lee concluded.
Tony Font Show will launch their Secret Steps EP at Jive on Saturday 16 with Brisbane's Transport, and The Beards. - Rip It Up Magazine #898
