Bio

For over 20 years, Tony Ortiz has been an active musician, songwriter, vocalist, and lead guitarist, leaving an indelible mark on the Bay Area music scene with his unique brand of music. Known for his dynamic performance style, Tony has fronted for several successful bands, including the progressive, “Zero Hour”, “Madman’s Lullaby”, “Crush (Bon Jovi tribute)”, and is currently with “Hare Metal” and “Tony Ortiz (Band) ”.

With his new debut EP title, “Follow with My Love”, Tony channels his musical passion and tight vocal harmonies into an album that is energetic, aggressive, and “just plain-fun” rock/hard rock. Members of “Tony Ortiz ” live performances include seasoned musicians Scott Dinn on drums; Korhan Bircan on guitar; Sheldon Mah on keyboard, and “Win The Bassmaiden” on bass. “Follow With My Love” is currently offered on itunes, Amazon as well as several other platforms.

Classically trained, Tony’s vocal style and sound is marked by an edgy, but smooth/wet flavor. Adding tonal interest, is a raspy-like quality in the middle registers, with hair-raising, piercing notes in the higher registers reminiscent of Jeff Scott Soto and Jon Bon Jovi. Ever the consummate professional, Tony emphasizes clear articulation of words and effective lyrical phrasing to communicate the emotion behind his music.

Tony’s extensive musical resume includes lead vocals on “Zero Hour’s” progressive self-titled effort, he co-wrote and recorded an acoustic-based CD with “Seasons” in 2002, and more recently, fronted hard rock band Madman’s Lullaby’s, “New Beginning” CD in 2010. During the 80’s, he played lead guitar with many bands including, “Avalon”, “Silhouette” and “Steel River”, with a guitar style of George Lynch.
