Bio

Tony Rosario is a true son of the soil. Born and raised on the high plains of Eastern Colorado/ Western Nebraska, his earliest influences musically were as many as the stations on the radio dial - from Hank Williams and The Carters (WSM) to Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder , and Jethro Tull (KOMA- Oklahoma City).

Tonys career of over 25 years in music include stints with new age cowboy artist Chuck Pyle, recording artist Michael Johnson , Polygram Nashville, and MCA Publishing. He is highly acclaimed as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, recording artist, performer, producer, and teacher. He has appeared in concert with such artists as Gov't Mule, John Cowan, Shawn Colvin, Richie Furay, Robert Earl Keen, Guy Clark, New Grass Revival, Firefall, and Delbert McClinton.

Tony has received critical acclaim from USA Today, Las Vegas Sun Times, Le Monde-Paris -France, The Rocky Mountain News, The Geneva Free Press-Switzerland, The Boulder Daily Camera, and the Telluride Watch , etc.

He began playing local bars and dance halls in Eastern Colorado at 14. His Mother drove him to gigs. "It was very sweet of her and a little embarrassing to me at the time" he recalls. Tony moved to the bright lights of Boulder in the late 1980s and began performing in the bars and clubs of the Denver/Boulder /Front Range area . Within a few short years he was performing and recording with such national-league players such as guitar-ace Jock Bartley of Firefall , Southwestern Troubadour Chuck Pyle, Rock & Roll Hall-of-Fame Inductees The Coasters, etc.

While developing a reputation in Colorado as a solid and hard-working side-man and session player, Tony began to craft a handful of songs that soon caught the ear and attention of a small handful of publishing execs and in 1990 Tony moved to Nashville and signed as a songwriter for Crosswind/MCA Publishing .

In 1992 he went to work for Polygram Publishing. 1994 found him performing as a Featured "Polygram Songwriters Abroad" in Montreaux, Switzerland, , performing at the legendary Casino de Montreaux (think "Smoke on the Water") for 4 consecutive month-long engagements. While performing there he caught the attention of French Artist Jean-Pierre Huser, who invited him to return to Switzerland to add guitars and bass to his (21st) album. Within a few months Tony became much in demand in the European recording scene, frequently working with artists such as Patrick Moraz (YES) , and culminating in a critically acclaimed and award winning performance at the 1996 Montreaux Jazz Festival with European Artist Fabrice Pesse.

He returned to the States in 1996 and to Colorado in 2000. After moving to Southern Colorado in 2005, He quickly became a local favorite in Telluride and Southern Colorado, performing in concert with John Cowan, Shawn Colvin, Gov't Mule, Warren Haynes, etc. In 2008, Tony was a performer at both the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and The Telluride Blues and Brews Festival. He now performs acoustically,¨ a very blues and soul infested style", and also with a blues/rock & roll trio Trutone and the Pour Boyz¨

He currently lives and works near Denver, with his sweetheart Robyn , hound dogs Elvis, and June Carter , and felines FinnOtisMandu and Mama Kitty.
