Tony Weeks

BandAlternativeAcoustic

I'm a great first act on a rock bill. I'm an acoustic singer-songwriter that knows how to engage the audience...think a Glen Phillips or Ryan Adams acoustic show.

Biography

"With a straightforward and fearless delivery that immediately sets him apart from the myriad of hesitant neo-folkies, Tony's first person declarations hit the listener dead-on with what can only be described as a sincerity wallop." -- CONNECT SAVANNAH

Bottle Up Your Smile

Written By: Tony Weeks

VERSE
Hollywood is not my home I’ve said many times before.
A southern man until I die, but now I’m not so sure.
My accent’s fading. My hair is changing color every single day.
But when I come back to Georgia, I wish that I could…

CHORUS
…stay here for a while and bottle up your smile, and take it back home with me…
a bottle of southern hospitality with your name inscribed on it. You’d be a star for sure. And before you know it I’ll be coming back for more.

VERSE
California winter’s just like fall; I guess I can’t complain. But I come home to no one at all, and no one knows my name. But they will, I promise you that in time, they’ll stand in line just to see me. And I’ll spot you in the crowd…you’ll be so proud.

CHORUS
And I’ll stare at you for a while and bottle up your smile, and take it back home with me…a bottle of southern hospitality with your name inscribed on it. You’d be a star for sure. And before you know it I’ll be knocking at your door.

REFRAIN
And I’ll…

CHORUS
… stare at you for a while and bottle up your smile, and take it back home with me…a bottle of southern hospitality with your name inscribed on it. You’d be a star for sure. And before you know it I’ll be knocking at your door.

Goodbye You

Written By: Tony Weeks

VERSE
Goodbye you. Life’s been interesting these days post us, and I trust that I won’t forget you. You’re embedded in my soul so many ways that you’re no longer you but me.
Have you thought of me in all this time? Does my smile or my laugh ever cross your mind? And do you miss me in the morning shaving next to you? Well, I do.

CHORUS
So I’ll file away these memories once again. Stand up and look instead to what’s ahead and where I should begin to find myself, and hopefully someone else…but it won’t be you.

VERSE
I still cry, even after so long. Please tell me why that I every time I sit to write a song it ends up about you. I guess you’re the card that I drew…but I lost.

CHORUS
So I’ll file away these memories once again. Stand up and look instead to what’s ahead and where I should begin to find myself, and hopefully someone else…but it won’t be you.

BRIDGE
Why can’t it be you? It’s ok to change our minds. All we needed was just a little time apart; so now let’s start. Even the U.S. broke up once, just like US….just like us.

VERSE
Goodbye you. Life’s been interesting these days post us, and I trust that I won’t forget you. You’re embedded in my soul so many ways that you’re no longer you but me.
