Bio
Tony has returned to his North Carolina and Maryland roots to review his long awaited, debut CD entitled, "Simply Blue (The Official Love CD)."
This is the first step in a promotional tour that includes FYE sponsored, in-store performances at For Your Entertainment (FYE) music stores nationwide.
Prior to his making his CD debut, Mr. Yarborough as opened for Jazz Greats and Soul Legends such as Diane Schuur and Gladys Knight. Additionally, he's performed at Washington's Blues Alley, and headlined at the Ritz, Tacoma Station Night Club, and other Baltimore, MD and Durham, NC venues.
Mr. Yarborough's seductive voice is described as "A warm and familiar place where the air is fresh and clear --a place you definitely want to go.
In 2003, Tony was introduced to Bryant Carthan a very talented, composer, and producer. “The best producer this side of Quincy Jones,” says Tony.
Their meeting culminated into his solo debut. This CD, says Tony, has something for everyone. It will take you on a journey through the myriad of emotions associated with love relationships, then wil completely reward you for taking the trip.
Anthony Yarborough (affectionately referred to as “Tony”) is a native North Carolinian and Baltimorian whose musical influence began early in his life: at 18 months. Tony’s mother Ethel, a mezzo-soprano, recalls Tony first singing venues that included his crib and wherever listeners were gathered. Tony continued to hone his musical skills while playing tuba in the band at Hillside High School, under the direction of Clarke Edgerton.
It was then that Tony realized music would play a keynote in his life. It was also then that he began developing a soulful, yet personable style that continues to seduce audiences throughout the United States.
