Bio

Topaz: Born and raised in the Texas hill country, Topaz McGarrigle got his start as a young child playing saxophone on the streets of downtown Austin. From Washtington DC at the Duke Ellington School of Arts for Jazz, when his music career took him to NY City where he formed his first band. From there...and a long way home, Topaz now returned to his hometown of Austin, residing on the banks of the Colorado river where he is delving into his hill country roots by bringing some blues singing and harmonica playing into the mix of high energy dance grooves. “a languorous but muscular sound...funk and new-school dub for late night comedowns.” -CMJ

Topaz: Influences include Fela Kuti, R.L. Burnside, Donny Hathaway, Miles Davis, James Brown, John Coltrane, Pink Floyd, Prince, Bjork, Outcast, Maceo Parker, Johnny Cash, Funkadelic, Meters, ZZ Top, Townes Van Zandt, Charlie Parker and more..

Greyhounds: Anthony Farrell & Andrew Trube: They enjoy what they're doing, and it's more than evident in their highly energetic shows. As tight breakdowns and relentless vibes ricochet off the walls, both wallflowers and groove connoisseurs alike will find themselves heading towards the floor to get their boogie on. Originally formed in L.A., Greyhounds hit the road in 2000 and began building quite a reputation. After personal changes and relocation to Texas in 2002, the band grew hungry for change and eager to take things to the next level. Armed with new material, the band headed to New Orleans to record with special guest, Ani DiFranco lending her voice to a track. The finished product, titled Liberty as a tribute to its birthplace, is a raw record that has gotten back to the simplicity of writing great grooves, catchy melodies, and telling interesting and sincere stories. With Andrew and Anthony swapping many different instruments and lead vocal roles, there is definitely a different element and vibe for each tune.

The Greyhounds influences include Ruben Wilson, Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Hall & Oates, Jack McDuff, & Bobby Rush.
