According to Top Flight, there are no better feelings than proving someone wrong and watching someone’s mouth drop. For Top Flight, mouths drop most frequently when he speaks of only
beginning his music career 2 years ago, in late 2010. Since starting his career, Top Flight, born Krieg McClure of Raleigh, NC, was filled with aspiration but was always indecisive about who he was and what he wanted. Growing up he pursued many careers including playing in the MLB and the NBA, being a professional video gamer, a pro skater, a Marine, even an astronaut. Everything Krieg picked up he found he was good at, but rapping was the first thing that brought Krieg a true challenge.

Top Flight decided to pursue music his junior year In high school. During High School, Top Flight upheld steady grades with a 3.9 GPA, but halfway through his senior year he found his studies hindering rather than furthering him in the pursuit of his dreams. After dropping out, not even his family supported his dreams with music, which brought on his inspiration to prove everyone wrong. Top Flight’s work ethic was like no other but he still found something holding him back. During his high school years, he developed into a heavy drug user which resulted in multiple police charges and a head on collision due to impaired driving, that put two people in the hospital. He found himself at an impasse between actively chasing his dreams or filling his addiction. Though it wasn't easy, Krieg chose to pursue his dreams and has been sober for over a year.

In the process of finding himself as an artist, Top Flight assembled a team known as The Fleet. His new team brought him the professional structure he was missing and pushed his music into the market with his first EP, “EPidemic” released on June, 1st 2012. The project included his first local hit “Place Called Home” featuring and produced by Fleet member, Xander Link. Sadly, that same summer Xander passed away from unexpected heart transplant complications on July, 27th. Losing him was a struggle to Top Flight and the rest of the team, but it brought on a new motivation to push through to see the dreams they visioned together become reality.

The passing of Xander pushed Top Flight to improve on every aspect of his craft. He showcased these improvements on his next mixtape “Simply Complex” released December, 27th 2012. His singles from the project received over 180,000 combined views on Youtube, and the mixtape itself received over 20,000 downloads. As 2013 rolls around Top Flight prepares for the wave of opportunities coming his way.
