Biography

Tophie Davies is a new up-and-comer on the performing arts scene. He's been writing songs for years, and is bringing them to The Works main stage for the first time this year!

Born and raised in Alberta, Tophie has played music all his life. A multi-instrumentatist, he started on piano, then moves on to bassoon, quena, percussion and finally guitar. The guitar opened up a new world for him and he began writing songs and recording. His songs cover a lot of ground: from political commentary to personal experiences and observations. His music is catchy and eclectic, incorporating latin, jazz and blues, while still staying true to his folk roots.

Tophie has recorded and produced two albums of his original work, and is currently wrapping up a third album to be released this summer.

Always eager to refine his craft, Tophie is currently studying music at Grant MacEwan University. This has brought new inspiration, ideas and sophistication to his music.

Note to Dawn Saunders-Dahl: Andy Davies is my brother.
