Topic’s Biography
The dymanics of Jay-Z to the in your face style and laid back flows of T.I., Ludicris and OutKast
Topic, not just another name of an up and coming artist but the up and coming artist that will set Kansas City and the industry on fire. Coachable and versatile are the two best words describe Topic, an artist that will be the next best thing if not the thing that the Hip- Hop Movement is missing locally and industry wide.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Stinvil’s father was deported when he was five and consequently raised by his mother. To give her kids a better life, and avoid the trappings of living in a bad neighborhood, Ms. Stinvil followed a lifelong friend to Kansas City. In 2001, Ms. Stinvil decided to move back to Miami, FL and Topic was adopted by his best friend’s (Dustin Thomas) parents to finish high school. Savagez, the group that was started during his freshman year in high school won a talent show in 2002. But tragedy struck in 2003 when his best friend Dustin was murdered. Spurred by a rash of tragic deaths of a couple of his friends Stinvil dropped the mic and played Arena Football from 03-06. Listening to the rap scene in Kansas City and watching a couple of his favorite industry artists Stinvil would become Topic and step back into the booth for one more go at a dream that started with the Savagez in high school. Launching a comeback with his friend J. Ferrari they formed the group “First Team” and released the song Ali Swagger with their own money. Attracting the attention of a local independent label “Evolution Records”, Ali Swagger was placed on Evolution Record’s Rap Inc. project that moved a few units locally. This sparked a flame in Stinvil to go on a recording spree that has produced numerous songs and a mix tape introducing himself to Kansas City and the industry called, “I Am Topic”.
Topic’s music ranges from in your face songs like,” Who Me” and “Take A Picture” to seductive songs for the ladies like “Across Tha Room” and “So Anxious”. With cross-over potential, great stage presence and energy, for a local independent artist, Topic is positioning himself for longevity. Welcome and witness the charisma and energy of “Topic”.
