"Torch have created a debut that makes a hugh splash, invading rock's
elite division with their hard yet melodic approximation to hardcore".
"This is a more experienced band, overall the band expression and songwriting is matured, such that the results are balanced on an edge somewhere between bone-crunching and ultra-catchy". - Addressa Newspaper, 2006
"This can only be described as a remarkable debut from metal-happy Norway. Torch's goal is likely to lead the commonly-scolded numetal genre into more exciting directions - the key to this lies in combining a brutal yet enotionally edged hardcore to the lead-heavy riffs and angst-ridden vocals. And that's what Torch sounds like - a hybrid of Korn and Nirvana, with a huge, rich sound that explodes with energy, pent-up emotion and dynamics". - Verdens Gang, 4/4/06

Bio
Torch's lineup solidified in 2004 when the band was invited to play a short 5 date tour of Scotland and England. They had already built a respectable fan base in their native Norway with their incendiary live shows. After an explosive show at the 2005 Bylarm (Norway's answer to SXSW and Popcomm) they were signed to Kong Tiki Records and recorded their phenomenal debut "Death to Perfection" (2006, KTR). The band opened for Opeth and Tool at last years Quart Festival.
