Bio

Torn Bio:

If poetry, art, and commercial hard rock had a illegitimate spawn, Torn would be the result of that unholy union. From the first heavy, thundering guitar riff of Broken, to the last soulful note sang on The Dreaming Song, "Reincarnate", Torn's debut national release, the band skillfully walks the thin line between commercial viability and artistic integrity.

Dubbed by fans as the next great American poet, Nathaniel Byers weaves his art and soulful melodies into a haunting and powerful pallet of music created by the sometimes brutal guitar style of Caleb Renish, the almost surgical precision of Mark Napoleoni on the skins, and the low end groove of Jason Douglas on bass.

Select cuts from "Reincarnate" will be included on the upcoming international DVD "The Making of Asia Diva". Music from the album will also be featured on the upcoming Discovery channel series "American Speedboat", a successful show from the makers of American Choppers debuting in the spring.

Torn's live performance captivates the audience. Often times patrons of the show pause for a few seconds at the end of a song to process the experience they just had, then like thunder claps, applause fills the room. Every engaging song in the set leaves the audience salivating to purchase a recorded memory of the show in the form of "Reincarnate". At the staggering number of 500+ sold in the past two months the future looks blindingly bright for the band.

When the CD hits shelves at Target in April the chain projects Torns first quarter sales to be between 4 and 10 thousand units sold. With yearly projections surpassing the 40,000 mark.

It's hard to imagine in the music market of today, a band that is so driven to success that they can boast they have accomplished their milestones without the aid of management or a record label supporting them. But with the help of select radio stations across the region such as WAAF(Boston), WKKB(New Bedford), WBRU(Providence RI), Rock 94.5(Spokane WA), and a host of internet radio stations, Torn has proved time and again they have the drive and package to guarantee success in such a competitive industry.
