They will kick-off their tour at the 20th annual Spring Scream Festival in Kenting, making their way north to Kaohsiung, Taipei, and closing off by playing two shows in Hong Kong.

Full tour schedule:
4/4 - Spring Scream Festival, Kenting, Taiwan 5:50pm
4/6 - The Mercury Bar, Kaohsiung, Taiwan 8:00pm
4/9 - Revolver, Taipei, Taiwan 8:30pm
4/11 - Sense 99, Hong Kong 10:00pm

""Music, Sounds Delicious!"? Featuring Taiwanese Hip-hop/indie Rock Musicians"

Manhattan, NY (September 21, 2012) - "Music, Sounds Delicious!", listed among the Taiwan Week series event organized by CATUN (Committee of Admission for Taiwan into the United Nations), is going to present Taiwanese hip-hop/indie rock music with famous Taiwanese cuisine on September 21, 6:30pm - 10:00pm, at The Living Room NYC.

The headliners, Miss Ko and Gordon, are two Taipei-based rappers from the growing Taiwanese hip-hop brand: Kao, Inc. Miss Ko, born and raised in Queens, has developed a unique street style which oscillates between English and Mandarin. Her newly released album "Knock Out" makes her not only the first female rapper in Taiwan, but also the only rap artist to ever debut at number one on the charts. Gordon has maintained a stronghold in Taiwan's underground music scene ever since he first joined Kao Inc Records in 2007. His mellow yet graceful flow transforms his music both musically and lyrically.

"Music, Sounds Delicious!" also features two New York based indie bands. The opening band, PaperDoll, can be heard in several major commercials, TV shows, and films. They have brought their infectious dance-rock sound to NY Pride in Central Park and have opened up for OhLand, Mos Def, and Joan Jett. Another Taiwanese-American band, Torpid May, combines elements of pop, grunge, noise, punk and ambient rock. They are a true representation of the Taiwanese indie music scene.

CATUN (Committee of Admission for Taiwan into the United Nations) is a group of Taiwanese Americans who are dedicated to enhance Taiwan's visibility on the international stage. To reach more people, CATUN holds a series of culture events named Taiwan Week. The goal is to introduce Taiwanese culture to Americans through mixers, food, movies, and live music. The concert "Music, Sounds Delicious!" aims to present Taiwanese music and to bring more people to experience Taiwanese culture.

Bio

Torpid May creates suspenseful, melodic rock that moves from sublime to forceful, and then coalesces into an ambient collage that echoes the Far East while splintering the past and soaring to a sonic wonder.

The three band members arrived here from Taiwan and Hong Kong as teenagers. In late 2011, a long-held dream of forming a band took hold in New York with Frank Chen (vocal/guitar), David Jiang (vocal/guitar/bass) and Jackie Jack (drums). Torpid May creates music that’s uniquely theirs with lyrics in three languages: English, Taiwanese and Mandarin. Their first breakthrough came in May 2013 on an “uber stage” in Union Square at the Passport to Taiwan (P2TW) Festival, followed by an equally exciting venue in Times Square for the Keep Taiwan Free Rally in September of the same year.

All of this effort culminated in a multicity East Asia Tour in April 2014 where the band played multiple shows in Taiwan and Hong Kong and also appeared at the 20th Annual Spring Scream Festival where a rapt audience rocked out to their soul-stirring music.

Other notable appearances include:

Echo Music Festival, New York City, 2011, 2012
Spring Roll Festival, New York City, 2013
Passport to Taiwan, Union Square, NYC, 2013
Rock For Hope (Headline), New York City, 2013
Keep Taiwan Free, Times Square, NYC 2013
M.E.A.N.Y. Festival, New York City, 2013
Spring Scream Festival, Kenting, Taiwan 2014
Jersey Shore Music Festival, Seaside Heights, NJ, 2014
