Bio

Tortilla Flat, named after the John Steinbeck novel, is a 3-piece punk rock group and was founded in Langenthal, Switzerland in 1991. Having been friends since school days, the same three members have stayed and played together ever since the beginning. They write and perform mostly simple, short, straight, melodic punk rock songs, often influenced by Irish, Scottish, English and American folk music. Up to the end of 2011, the band has played well over 300 gigs in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. At selected gigs they are sometimes joined by bagpipers in the last couple of years.
Tortilla Flat have also started to perform acoustic gigs that deliver a blend of acoustic versions of their own songs, Irish folk classics as well as cover versions of vintage punk and rock favourites. At acoustic gigs, they are often accompanied by their long-time friend and supporter Spider McEwan, Hugo Bosca from fellow Langenthal ska-punk group Bosca as well as other guest musicians.
