GUADALAJARA, JALISCO (17/MAY/2013).- Abrirse camino en el universo de la música no es fácil. Mucho menos cuando el género a difundir sufre de estigmas y tabúes, como sucede con el heavy metal, una rama sonora que paulatinamente gana más seguidores lejos de los grandes escenarios comerciales.
Como ejemplo figura la banda capitalina Torton, que desde el año 2000 emprendió una lucha por romper con los estereotipos de las agrupaciones novatas que sueñan con convertirse en un icono musical inmediatamente. Por el contrario, sus integrantes tienen claro que el camino y las oportunidades se forjan en la disciplina y el profesionalismo que desprenden cada vez que las cuerdas y la batería acompañan a esa característica voz gutural que expresa sentimientos y emociones de la actualidad social, política y cultural.

TORTON is a fusion of two musical projects: Kakumen, a hardcore metal band and Espin a post-grunge band. Both bands have the objective to sound as heavy as they can, avoiding to fall in metal clichés like demonic allusions. TORTON´s lyrics are about social problems that people live everyday: personal problems, the way we relate and solutions that we can offer to this national situation in which we live (economic crisis, unemployment, inflation, social discrimination, corruption, etc.)All these gave as a result a powerful metal, critical and real.

TORTON was born at the latest 2000 in Estado de Mexico, a Mexico´s state, moving through the Mexican underground stage with national and foreign bands. Their first CD contains 10 tracks that reflect what the band has been through.
Their first single named Crisis had a wide acceptance in the audience, which was reflected in YouTube and social networks. Crisis had been broadcast on Mexican radio stations: Ibero 90.9 FM, 710 AM interference, and 105.7 rector.
TORTON´S speech is not political but social. TORTON knows the difficulties of living day by day. Their music generates empathy with its audience to offer them another perception about what can come everyday.
