TOTO & RAFAEL DUO: "SENTIMIENTO"
An acoustic cruise to the carribean: Latin music, boleros, bachatas, merengue and konpa.

A musical encounter of the beautiful islands, Haiti and the Dominican Republic .

Toto Short bio: (Philippe Toto Laraque) was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on September 15, 1953. Raised in Haiti, he comes from a musical family. Toto began his career playing guitar at age 13, with the group “GYPSIES DE PETION-VILLE” and later joined the all time famous jazz fusion group “CARIBBEAN SEXTET” which is known for breeding some of Haiti’s top musicians. Toto just kept evolving and mastering his guitar, in which he developed his own style which has been the key to open up many doors on the international level for him, in Canada, France and many other parts of the world. However, although Toto Laraque is a very well polished jazz guitar player, his ultimate goal is to play his troubadour style of guitar playing fused right into a very sexy Konpa groove. Toto Laraque is currently based in Canada, playing in many major venues and festivals.

RAFAEL short bio:
Rafael (Wilsikin Esteban RAFAEL Medina) Montréal, Québec-based, born in Bani, République Dominicain. Rafael sings and composes in Spanish language in the style sof merengue, bachata, salsa et la musique tropicale. Rafael is known in Montréal Latin music circles as one of the city’s top singers of the genres of music from the Dominican Republic. He is the former lead singer and one of the composers for the Montréal merengue group Estofa Band, who performed in theatres, festivals and clubs in Montréal and Toronto, including opening for artists such as Latin Grammy award winning Aventura, Grupo Mania, and merenguero Tono Rosario. Rafael has written songs for Papa AP, Freddy Anthony, and El Lindo. Rafael has since embarked on his solo project with plans to release his debut compact disc in winter 2009.
