Tourist is a bluesy, rootsy, funk-fuelled rock band combining soaring vocals, head-turning guitars and tight rhythms. Fresh from a packed tour of south west WA and two stunning shows at Nannup Music Festival, one of Perth's tightest live bands returned in 2014 with Race Against Time, an album of hard-edged beauty built around classic song writing, tumbling grooves and instrumental artistry.
After independently releasing two EPs that gained national airplay, UK award recognition and a WAM Song of the Year nomination, Tourist hit the studio with acclaimed WA producer James Newhouse to record their dbut album. Stirring up elements of rock, roots, blues and funk into a stylistic casserole Race Against Time delivers organic sounds, contemplative lyrics and an expansive sonic palette built through years spent mastering their craft.
Tourist continue to build on their reputation of powerhouse live shows packed with energy, outrageous musicianship and a dash of dance-floor fun for good measure.
