As energetic as they are ambitious, Town Criers are a four piece rock band hailing from Roscommon. Writing and recording since 2006, they have recently finished their first EP with involvement from Dave Hingerty (currently touring with the Swell season) and Ken McHugh (mastermind of Dublin group Autamata)
The band has been busy this year. As well as recording, they have gigged extensively throughout the country with the likes of such success stories as The Flaws, Fred, Dirty Epics and The Red Labels. Playing with bands of this ilk is no surprise, as Town Criers have a live energy on stage that is hard to resist.
Consider a singer with the voice of a young Eddie Vedder, throw in crunchy guitars, anthemic choruses, pounding drums with a driving bass and you have the perfect recipe for rock gems you’ll be whistling for days. A band to watch for 2011, Town Criers release their debut EP “Wake Up" in January .
