""Feeling alternatively validated, rockers have recording plans""

Formed on the Mount Union College campus in 2007, Townhouse Suite - Beau Livengood (guitar), Chris Zath (bass), Chris Barkan (drums) and Dustin Lato (vocals) - has made strides in the Northeast Ohio music scene. The band made it to the finals of the 2008 Kent Battle of Standing Rock competition. "That was kind of like our first validation of, 'Hey, you guys could actually do something with yourself,'" said Zath, a 2003 Brunswick High graduate. "We're an alternative rock band. We've heard comparisons to everything from the Beatles and the Clash to Against Me! and System of a Down. So it's like, how do you really gauge who you are with that variety? What I've been taking away is that people don't really have their thumb on who we sound like, as much as maybe it's like the first time they heard a certain band this is how they felt." Among the songs the band plans on recording for its debut EP due out this year are the grungy "Acetylene" and the heavy "Patience."

"Townhouse Suite's "The Red Room" gets graded"

Though it's clearly rooted in '90s hard rock, Townhouse Suite's full-length debut is an impressive first showing. With its refrain "I saw the world go by," "Patience" is a terrific anthem that recalls mid-'90s Pearl Jam, propelled by sinewy guitar solos that maintain the momentum as the song approaches the five-minute mark. The same goes for "Acetylene," a lurching jam that shows off the band's neo-prog tendencies. These guys can really play, as the album's off-kilter time signatures prove. Unsung on the local scene because they don't play out a lot, that should change as the group incorporates a new drummer and gets back into the clubs. — Jeff Niesel - Cleveland Scene Magazine

Bio

Townhouse Suite is an action-packed, non-stop, musical instruments and vocals rock band based out of Cleveland, Ohio. Its current line-up was formed when original members Dustin Lato, Beau Livengood and Chris Zath incorporated Christopher Dalman into the fold. From that moment, they have fought the odds and battled adversity to achieve one, unified goal: to deliver a sound to audiences that gets their blood pulsing and their auditory sense crying for more.

Taking a foundation in legendary 90’s rock bands Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots, then adding a diverse smattering of contemporary alternative-rock (i.e. Muse, Seether, Rise Against, etc.), Townhouse Suite has produced a sound that has been hard to label, but easy to embrace. The band, its fans, and the general audience have made it clear that this was a quality that all listeners could benefit from by providing another option in an otherwise contracting musical scene.

Having performed with national acts such as Local-H, Trust Company and the Exies, Townhouse Suite has proven that their music can hold its own no matter who they are playing with or the audience they are performing for. They have also garnered compliments from those within the music business, including renown producer and musical engineer John Walsh, who, after helping the band record their first LP stated, “It’s been a while since I’ve had this much fun, or been this focused on my work. It has been a real pleasure for me to have worked with this band and their music.”

After spending several months in the studio during the winter of 2009, Townhouse Suite recently released their first full length CD, entitled "The Red Room", which has undoubtedly captured much of the get-up-and-move force the band puts into their live acts.

With their future's potential ever-growing, Townhouse Suite feels only they can set their limitations and looks forward to converting every listener to a true fan.
